Ok, I have been playing with a new program I brought. Ive had a go with some basic examples these characters. I know there the same template but like I said there just examples. Sorry, Ive just realised Ive posted this in the wrong thread

Besides the eyes look made of crystal... :S
But it\'s nice and perhaps could be made for some cinematic scenes, I remember someone wishing for cinematics in wish list forum.

Yup, sure is

Poser 6. I brought it because it has unlimited possiblitiys (and a sting to the credit card I can tell you lol).

The reason why the eyes look like glass is because I only did a draft render, as for the backgrounds... like I said there only examples im playing with at the moment.

Ive been looking into cinematics and I may go that direction, but one step at a time.

you. bought. poser...? gaa! hack. cough. gurgle. aaargh! May I aks why? it would be much smarter for you and your wallet if you got a cheap or free 3d program and learned to make humans yourself, or you could even find plenty of free models on the web.

As for the art itself, well, no offense, but it is just yet another smei realistic poser render, perhaps it has ps scense behind it, but it is still rather, well, ugly. I would take some time to learn poser more, then psot some newer, better intergrated scenes.

Also: blender just got uber new hair particles! coded by the orange team!

Actually, if you combine poser with a nice modelling app you can create some pretty sweet stuff.

While I respect other peoples opinions I do wish people would read the initial post in alittle more detail before replying (My appologise to those whom do).

JellyWerker I did say these were starting pics and im still playing with the program. I brought Poser 6 because I like the features of it. Secondly if you read the previous posts you would also see these renders were done using the lowest settings possible (I dont want to wait 4 hours for the render).

I wanted a program thats quick to setup and easy to make figures and poses. I lack the patience for full 3D progs... (apart from Cinema4D)

Everyone uses different 3D programs to suit there needs.

I must say that I went the Poser route too when I was about 14. I wanted to get into 3D animation and I managed to convince my parents with a lot of finagling to get me Poser 4.

I opened it up, read the manual twice. (It had a really nice manual) Played with it for two weeks, and then put it away and never used it again.

The thing I found out is that Poser is really not that great of a standalone program. It works much much better in tandem with other programs. I use 3DS Max now and have ceased to even look at Poser, much to my parents chagrin who were out a few hundred dollars to buy it for me. In fact they still remind me of this fact anytime I ask to borrow some money...

I dont know anything about the program but can the models be used in crystal space? If so could the devs use poser to make some quick generic npc models an such. It sounds like its a pretty easy program to use.

Actually Gentar that pic uses LightWave for the modeling and Poser for the lighting, materials, and rendering. That guy was a very good modeler too btw. He didn\'t use the uv map at all, he did it all with shaders, so all the detail is in the model (so it\'s pretty insane).
