Interactive menus won't re-focus / unhide
« on: October 06, 2005, 02:00:34 am »

As seen in the image above, all my interactive windows are transparent, which typically happens. My issue is that I cannot get ANY window to refocus anymore...I have to work with the window transparent which is often a headache.

So far...all I\'ve done is delete my \'updaterconfig.xml\' file which did not fix the issue. Anybody out there that can help me? I\'m trying to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling.

Edit: I removed the \'planeshift.cfg\' file regarding this issue, not the \'updaterconfig.xml\'

Thank You!!!

I\'m really not one to know all of the inner code and workings of the client, but... why would you delete updaterconfig.xml? As far as I know (and as the file name implies), it just deals with the updater. Speaking of which, have you tried using it once more? Is this a persistant issue? Suppose it\'s lag related?

Sorry....wrong file. I modified the updaterconfig.xml for the new mirror. I really meant to say that I removed the \'planeshift.cfg \' file.

Yes, this is a persistant issue. The last four or five times I have started PS, this is the same case. It looks to be more of a permanent setting somewhere but when I check the properties of the windows, the allow fade in/out is checked. There is no difference when I uncheck and recheck the option (doesn\'t undo anything).

planeshift.cfg is a necessary file, I hope you got it back updating it.

Can you check in psclient.cfg this line?
Planeshift.GUI.Skin.Ingame
and tell me the name next to it?

what are you using, windows or linux?

Try to right click one of the windows and play a bit with the transparencies, like try max transparency to 78% and min transparency to 0%

I\'m running the latest installer (with updates) on my Windows machine. The line in the psclient.cfg file looks like this:

Planeshift.GUI.Skin.Ingame = default

As for the \'planeshift.cfg\' file, PlaneShift recreated the file after running the setup. As a web-developer, I make a habit of renaming the file instead of actually deleting it in case of it breaking the game.

I\'ve tried changing the colors around regarding the transparencies in-game, but to no avail.

I\'ll make an extra note that the fade in/out was working perfectly fine for quite some time previously...I\'m not sure what caused this to happen

Uhm, what do you mean with the fact that you cannot change the colors around regarding transparencies because they are not available?
