Server Down Thread deleted because it's gone OT?

Is there someone overacting a little bit?
It was fun readin it, and there are some people just killing time while waiting for the Server to come back, so where is the Problem?

The problem was that the Server section of these forums was meant for serious discussion, not off-topic posts that lead away from the original topic of a thread. You may be having fun posting or reading such, but this is not generally accepted forum behavior, especially in such an area of the forum. If you tried anything like that in \"Development Deliberation,\" for example, you\'d get mauled. People weren\'t adding any new information but posting the same \"OMG SERVER DOWNZ\" (paraphrasing lightly :D) over and over.

If you want to roleplay, use the roleplay forum. If you want to seriously discuss the server, use the Server forum. If you have completely off-topic subjects to discuss, use Hydlaa Plaza, or another media besides the message board.

Also, some people were getting a little excited in there. You know who you are.

Ok, i can see that.

But sometimes things evolve. I wouldn\'t have taken it that serious. At least, i play planeshift to have some fun together with other people.
So maybe we can go on over here.

If things evolve to such an extent that you\'re posting roleplay in a server discussion thread, it\'s gone. You\'re not supposed to do that :) The forum has to be in order, y\'know?

Suno, I\'m not sure what has been deleted in the past or why it may have been, but right now I\'m trying to keep things organized as much as possible, so please try to work with me :)

If you guys truly have something to \"go on\" about besides posting \"I\'m booooored, when will the server be up?\" make another thread here, and do it over there. Just make sure it\'s not completely pointless.

And let\'s leave this thread alone, since I believe most questions have been answered. If any other questions about the -previous- server thead remain, I\'ll take care of them. Otherwise, again, no spam.

I would take it as a sign, how much people admire planeshift if they rather stick to the forums when the server is down, istead of just walking away and do something else.

Well im at the forums all the time I like to keep up with all the news but I have a great deal of respect for the planeshift  community and the makers of the game even more they gave us a free game how cant you love them but they use the word soon to much

My opinion - from the PoV of an experienced \"Super Moderator\" of another board:

- Threads can be moved to another forum.

- Threads can be split (depending on the board software, of course).

When we had a reason to \"delete\" a thread, it was usually crossposting/multiposting (mainly in accident), or sometimes obvious illegal acvivity.

I don\'t moderate the Server forum, so I poked another moderator to take care of it, expecting a deletion of off-topic posts. Another route was taken. It\'s not the end of the world, regardless :) And those who have read it know just how badly off-topic it went. Personally I wouldn\'t know what to call it if it were split (not possible with these forums, I believe): Server Ramblings That Make No Sense Anymore? ;)

Not that I have any obligation to explain the obvious, but it was deleted because it was a duplicate topic AND severely pointless. The server\'s down, we know. Everyone knows. People get the idea. No more threads about it needed.
