Is it necessary to open another thread, instead of reading the currently running ones?

And: Is this a MacOS specific problem?

Actually, it is. I own a macosx, and for some odd reason, people are saying the server is running again, yet when i go to connect, it says \"100 fail.\" I checked my firewall and I have no idea whats going on. If someone could give me a list of things to look for would be great because I\'m new to the world of mac, i\'ve only had this computer for about a month. thanks.

Now, it seems up and working fine.

Are you behind a firewall? More than a Macos problem it seems a network one.

The \"Fail\" message can come up a lot. Did you try to connect?

when I tried to connect, I just got the message,

\"the server is not running or not reachable. please check the website and forums for more info...\"

Does this sort of thing happen a lot to mac users, or is it just me???
Maybe I didn\'t do the firewall right or something.

I really don\'t know what to do. I\'ve only had my mac for a short time, and it\'s my first. I know it can\'t be a network problem. It\'s got to be something else

He meant \"back\" I believe. Anyway, try again now. The server was down for a bit apparently (see http://laanx.fragnetics.com for details) and the time may have simply coincided with when you were trying to get on. If you can\'t get on, please post your system specs in the \"User System Specs\" sticky at the top of the forum. You can find your specs by pulling down the Apple Menu (top left) and selecting \"About this Mac.\" Then click \"More Info...\" Please follow the format specified in the first post of the thread!

I posted my specs. tried running again, no-go.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried again to fix my firewall, though I have no idea if that\'s the problem. I still get the \"Server not responding\" message. just thought I\'d let you know

First, don\'t double-post. Use the edit button. ;)

Second, please edit your User Specs post to exactly follow the format specified in the first post. Some important information is missing and I can\'t help you without that information.

Sorry, I\'m not quite sure what you\'re looking for, and to tell you truth, I\'m not quite sure either. I don\'t know much about computer lingo, so I put what I thought looked important. I apologize in advance. (for length and my sheer stupidity on the subject.)

It\'s alright. Just so you know, the list of required information was in the first post. I trimmed it down for you, though. I assume you have the latest Mac OS X (10.4.2)? You can find this information directly in Apple Menu->About This Mac (you do not have to click \"More Info...\" ).

Assuming you do, do you have the latest version of Planeshift? Have you read this thread? Follow the steps in the Guide to update (if you haven\'t already) and then try again. If the problem persists, we\'ll try something else.
