Yes, I\'ve downloaded mirror #3 in the mac osx package, and the updater for java, and have successfully updated both. It still says that the server is not responding.
And yes I do have 10.4.2.

-------------

tried after update. Still no go. Hmmmm......this is kind of confusing me as to why it isn\'t working. got any other ideas?

--------------

How do I configure my mac for auto updating??

There\'s no way to auto-update Planeshift at the moment. If you used the Java Updater, did you check \"Update All Files\" ?

yeah, but i got a really strange message saying on the regular updater,
\"Warning:
New updater can\'t be fetched since your OS isn\'t yet supported for automatic updating. you should be able to install it manually either from the mainsite or from the forums\"

------------------------

Updated with the updater.jar........Still says server not responding or unreachable....I still don\'t understand why it\'s not working. Any input from anyone  who\'s got a valid point would be greatly appreciated. thanks again guys.

-------------------------

My assumption\'s now that my firewall might havesomething to do with it, how do I go about opening it up to allow planeshift, or if my networking can be configured, how can I do that??

You don\'t need port forwarding, if that\'s what you\'re worried about. In fact, I don\'t think a firewall would be an issue, really. If you have something equivalent to the PC \"ZoneAlarm,\" that might do it... Do you have any particular connection-blocking software?

P.S. To turn off the software firewall, open System Preferences (from the Apple Menu), go to the \"Sharing\" preference pane, and then the \"Firewall\" tab. Click the \"Stop\" button.

Yes, I\'ve got \"little snitch.\" it just lets me know when my computer is dialing out and when things are dialing in, so I can block things from potentially delivering viruses. how would I fix that to let ps in? I don\'t know if I have zonealarm, I can check.

---------------------

You were right about my firewall, I turned it off and tried to sign on, that wasn\'t the problem...
don\'t have zonealarm......or anything like it besides my snitch program. how can I make it let me dial out to P.S.? (I apologize for repeating myself)

---------------------

What are the ports that P.S. travels on?? Is it just 7354, or are there others?

Hrmm... You have dial-up? I assume you\'re dialing before opening Planeshift?

I have ethernet....I don\'t have to manually dial in. I plug in, I\'m wired to the net.

Wrong version... Read the stickies and search (link in my sig). If you don\'t read the stickies and search, you\'ll have a difficult time here. I\'ll give you a hint: look at the \"Guide\" sticky in this forum.

mine says nothing about \"wrong version\" I downloaded the 3rd mirror, it just says the server is not responding. My account was made, I verified it, but I just can\'t play...

-------------------

I\'ve done every step the guide has told me to do. the network (I think) is not preventing my access, because I\'ve updated using the updater.jar. It\'s just frustrating to know I can do all the steps leading to gameplay, but can\'t play!

Bluebeachram: please look at my previous post. I specified which sticky you need to read. Furthermore, since your problem is unrelated to magenta\'s, please refrain from posting here. If you have further issues not addressed in the stickies or by searching, please create a new thread.

magenta: From the terminal, what do you get from \"ping -c 5 laanx.fragnetics.com\" ?

It says,

\"ping -c 5 laanx.fragnetics.com
PING laanx.fragnetics.com (203.81.44.229): 56 data bytes

--- laanx.fragnetics.com ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss\"

Is this what your looking for??
