I wish ChaOs would rename this theme something other than \"Question\"
Most theme titles are Questions!   It almost gets me to swear on this forum!

Do you have a hardware firewall? Is your software firewall on (by default: yes)?

Can I get back on that tomorrow? My dad needs to check to see and he\'s kinda busy right now. Sorry!

Sure, there\'s no rush. The point of web forums is that you don\'t need to respond right away. Respond when you can (within a month would be good, though ;) ).

Same problem
« Reply #51 on: November 06, 2005, 01:10:08 pm »
I can confirm that I have the same problem, and it\'s not a network issue.  The previous version would work fine on my system (0.3011).  I have enabled port forwarding for port 7777 and have even put my Mac on the DMZ.  Anyway, my PS version is 0.3012.  I\'m running Mac OS X 10.4.3 on a mac mini.  So, I\'m not sure which upgrade is causing the server to not be found; the 10.4.3 update or the new PS update.  I was also able to successfully ping the server via the console, and I do see that the status is up at the webpage.

Edit:  Pinging the server through updater.app seems to fail as well.

I ask again, is your software firewall up? Mac OS X has a built-in software firewall which is on by default. Unless you set it up to allow connections from laanx.fragnetics.com on port 7777 or disable it completely, you won\'t be able to connect.

Nope.  That puppy is off.  I\'ve gone through just about everything short of connecting my mac directly to my cable modem.  But, I know that can\'t be the problem since it has worked in the past, flawlessly, I might add.

Well the server has been bouncing up and down a lot. You may have just been really unlucky. Try it again now and see if it\'s working. I, myself, was on a few minutes ago.

I don\'t think this mac has a firewall, but there is something called \"Content Barrier X\". But it has all the settings set so that anything should be allowed through the internet into my account.

Firewall is off.
Port 7777 is enabled. (even though firewall is off)
I got healthy activity when I pinged laanx.fragnetics.com in terminal.

Hmm.

And still getting \"server not running or unreachable\".

Run regular updater after java update.jar!
« Reply #58 on: November 11, 2005, 07:46:36 am »
I was having the very same problem magenta_mauraders had.

After reading in \"Current 3.012 problems and suggestions\" that cobracon had tried the the regular updater after updater.jar and was able to logon successfully I figured I would give that a try.

It worked!!!  I can now play!!!
