If you want to complain about the 3d models,

If you think that Plane Shift suffers from bad graphics, does this change your mind at all?  Keep in mind that those NPCs pictured are built like 6 sided dice, and you can only see one side at a time.

Someone started a thread saying that the PS models were less than par, to put it lightly.

I\'m saying that individual might lack perspective, while at the same time drawing attention to daggerfall.

ahh, personally, I like the models, except for some of the animations... like the male Ynnwn. When they walk it makes me dizzy.

and the Male Enkidukai, they have a wierd way of walking that seems almost impossible..

The Female Enkidukai have oversized ankles...

and the Kran... well lets just say... look at the Kran Concept Art Thread...

http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=19533&boardid=22&styleid=3&sid=d70c234bcc5a0cb31944b2379bcfb573

Also to those who complain about the 3d models....

Make sure you know what your talking about before you complain about them....

Like the one post where the guy said \'The reason why we walk through each other is because we have no insides\' .. Well, you are completly wrong, the reason why we walk through each other is a thing called \'Collision detection\'

Also the reason for no insides is because, your not suppose to see inside anyway, and if we had insides that would make unnessisary usage of memory.

So before you complain, do some research on what your complaining about.

You and others have been making the joke that everything I post is \"random\".  Light hearted in many instances, but rarely random.

You know guys, I\'m sure there was a reason the previous thread was closed... :)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Closed, deleted.  I put it in the wrong forum the first time and Moogie deleted it.  Locking it would make sense since there isn\'t really any discussion necessary.

Perceiving PS 3d models as different from other games is obvious.

Why?
Well, because people that works on PS is not paid first of all, and the 90% of the time they are not professional modellers. What does this mean?
Really simple, they don\'t do models for job, but they do it because they have somehow talent and passion and they have decided to be available for PS.

It is not so easy to find valid artists (because even if the quality cannot be compared with the super duper one of certain games, they still create art) and I think PS models quality is extraordinary considering that it is done in the spare time of the people.

Certainly there are unperfections, like also in the code - even if even professional coders are working on it! - and in everything else, but PS is an Open Source project which more relaxed objective compared to a commercial one. Still, I believe that making comparison is not only cruel but also unnecessary.

If you believe you can do better models or you know somebody that can help the 3D department, please, don\'t hesitate to show up. If not, maybe it is better to think that we (team) are not working on PS 27 hours per day. ;-)

I only asked because I didn\'t get it at first, He explained in better detail with the next post, its not exactly random, but the fact that people can make claims about the art of PS without knowing how much work actually goes into creating a model, and how animation and collision detection works, and that such, it makes no sense to complain about the actually quite nice PS art. For a free game this art is awesome, even on a scale of games you have to pay to play, this art work is of decent scale.

I don\'t have the tools, or the \'spare\' time to help out with the game, but I would love to if I did. I can contribute ideas, but I think you can get enough of those. I can make a complete list of great powerful RP useful Items. Such as, Leather armor of the shadows- Invisible while in shadows, makes no sound when moving, reduced damage when hit by dark attacks, increased damage when hit by light attacks.

I can contribute a list of items like these but coding them into the game would be a little difficult. It would need some lines of code that reduce sound effect volume from player wearing armor to 0.

Well why didnt you say that at first?  More importantly, why did you start a new thread to reply to them?  You could have just posted your reply in the current thread, you know.  I really dont see the point of this thread, since it was never really going to go anywhere, and thus it\'s pretty pointless.
