character creation

Hello.

I just downloaded the game.  i went to the instructions on creating a character but what I see on my screen is nothing at all like the instructions.  The first page allows me to choose a name and a race, and that\'s it.  From then on, if I keep hitting next, I never get to any screens about distributing points, choosing jobs, etc.  I get to a screen where I choose jobs for my PARENTS a screen where I can pick a birthday and siblings, a screen where I can pick events that happened at birth.  

There is never that initial screen where I can choose quick creation vs. custom creation.  Choosing parents and life events does use cp\'s and seems to affect my character, but I end up with left over points and no way to use them.  

I\'m sure the interface has just gone through some changes, but where can I find out how it works now?

You don\'t get to make your character in a predictable fashion.  Make a history, and your characters skills and stats will be adjusted based on that history.

That is, you don\'t get to move 10 points from charisma to agility, but you can choose your parent to be an acrobat instead of a politician.

that\'s an interesting approach.  I wonder if someone could change the info on the web page as it still reflects an older approach.

Indeed - the website and Player Guide are beginning to be horribly outdated and will have to be looked into soon (if this isn\'t being done already). For now, the most reliable source of information is the forums :)

About the left over points: simply change some things to see if you can get them to zero. Most likely you won\'t even notice two left over points though.
