Ehh... I\'m actually saying that Vega would indeed beat someone like that... Without much problem, actually. Only that he wouldn\'t do it without his insane agility-related skills.

My personal opinion is that with high levels of melee, you most certainly can beat any swordsman. Why? you may ask. Because it\'s fast. If one uses strategies, such as charge fighting, they can usually win duels or defeat monsters far more easily than with a sword. And neither is it weak. If you can hit two 25\'s at twice the speed of a sword....... It may be far easier to buy a super sword, but in the long run, if uber swords are removed, you\'re stuck. So it takes time to train....and takes time to learn to put into practise.  But it certainly pays off.
Well that\'s my opinion.....

With normal medieval europe fist-fighting training you can at best fight in a tavern :P
If you\'re using melee weapons it gives you more possibilities, but it still isn\'t some sort of an eastern martial arts style (it can be distanced). And if you take those into account, then you have to keep in mind such styles as Iaido for swordmasters as well :P

Uber swords are not going to be removed.  They\'re going to be rarer, but they\'re staying.  And they SHOULD stay.

Yes, because we obviously need to encourage power-leveling in Planeshift in some way xD

Ah, I see so you were agreeing with me. I missunderstood :)) all good now; and I\'d agree whole heartedly.

Based on my last time in game (which I\'ll admit was immediately following the wipe.) encouraging power-leveling -and the arguments about KSing that go with it- is hardly something that needs to be tried for.
And yes I am a little bitter.

Power-levelling will always exist.  It is impossible to get rid of it and still maintain some sort of skill advancement system.

As long as people become more skillfull from performing certain activities in game, there will be people who take that process to as far as they can take it.  I don\'t think there\'s anything wrong with that.  In fact, if there weren\'t people in the game who became experts in their field, then the game wouldn\'t be very realistic.  The alternative is far, far worse:  It would be a sytem where every single player was a super hero, or alternatively where every single person was joe average.  There needs to be a range in place, and as long as there\'s a range, there will be people at either end of the curve.

I believe that the ancient Greeks had their own tradition of martial arts.
