Distorted Updater
« on: October 15, 2005, 01:47:39 pm »
My updater has updated to 1.0.2.6 and the colours when you run it distort to a three colour updater with the colours; black, white and a tan cream brown. When this happens the cursor disapears when you hold it over the updater. you can make out what it looks like and when you try and click where the update button is it and it starts to do something. I left it for a whole day and it does NOTHING!. is this happening to anyone else or is it just my version? does any DeV/MoD know the answer, does anybody know the answer. i\'ve tried everything from Re-installing to Re-installing my OS it still does it. please somebody help me before I give up full hope and leave the hope that I have of being able to play Planeshift again.

Jorrit posted a solution once - add the following two lines to data/config/r3dopengl.cfg:

Quote

    Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_ARB_texture_rectangle = false
    Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_NV_texture_rectangle = false
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

ok after much trouble with this I have the solution to this problem. It is related to a bug in the Art for the updater. This problem can be fixed by copying your \'C:/program files/planeshift crystal blue/updater/art\' and copying the file \"apps\". once you have copied this file move it to the \'C:/program files/planeshift crystal blue/art\' file and paste it there. Once you have pasted it there right click and click on the \"Extract All...\". extract these files then into \'C:/program files/planeshift crystal blue/art\'. Once this is done you can run your \"Updater\" program found in either \'C:/program files/planeshift crystal blue\' or \'Start/All Programs/PlaneShift Crystal Blue/updater\' once you\'ve opened the updater is should work with the standard set colours and shading. If not then this is not the solution to your problem... ;)
