game crash everytimes in enter into a new place

I play on a mac os 10.2.8 G4 1ghtz ram but everytimes i enter into a new place or move in caves (with rats) the game fix blocks and nothing appens or changes, no possibility to move mouse access to finder or nothing else. I just nedd to ressart my computer.
I have disable sound, disable background sound too, play in 16bits, low resolution but nothing changes. Try to keep maps loaded but nothing changes. Also if i try to download all maps before beginning the game quit and doesn\'t start.
What is the solution, the coorective to do?

now i enter in a place, the game crash ok. I restart my computer to restart the game in this new place but the problem is that now i can\'t play because during loading the game blocks and crash. That mean i have ended my game because of this bug.

Did you run updater if you did, then tern of all maps and save maps, run updader again and try that.
if still not working hopfully ChaOs will help.

i have done all you are saying and nothing changes the games now blocks at the dowloading game.
i think i will stop to play this game.

As for your problem, I\'d suggest NOT using Keep Maps Loaded or Load All Maps. If disabling both of these options works, good. If not, I have two suggestions. First, did you follow these instructions for disabling background music?

In-Game: Open the Options panel (has a \"check\" on it in the button bar). Go to Sound and then General. Uncheck the box labeled \"Background Music\" (should be the top one). Click \"Save\" at the bottom left of the Options panel.

Second, I\'d suggest updating to OS 10.3 or 10.4. Planeshift is much more stable under these OSes.

I have done everythings you said: desable sound in setup and also in the game (all the sound options to be sure). Play in low resolution, 16bits without loading game nor keeping map load. And with my other guy i enter in the red temple and : crash big big crash and now i can\'t play the game don\'t boot. In fact the game loads map to start game and after don\'t boot and crashs.

Please what i need to do??? (i do not want to update my OS because it will cost some money and i am not sure that i will can play

Could you post a console log, please (see the sticky at the top of the forum)?

it is impossible for me to copy the crash log console because when the crash occurs the game and computer are blocked and i need to restart. in consequence i can\'t copy the console because after restart this one is reinitialized.
Sorry but i think i will not continue to play this good game because of theses technicals problems

Have you tried force-quitting the app via apple-option-esc after it freezes? Try it a few times in case the first doesn\'t work. The game itself shouldn\'t crash the OS, it\'s one of OS X\'s \'vaunted\' features.

Of course i have try this but nothing done
i have try to lunch console and positionne it well to read what happen during launching planeshift.
there is a long list of message with a lot of error and files impossible to found and also normal messages. The game blocks just after loading map and on the console the last message possible to read was a thing like: step 5 success.
But at least and just at this time all was blocked and restart obligatory

Console logs are not erased when your computer crashes. Have you tried the \"reload\" button in Console?
