Rangers of Yliakum - Revised
« on: October 22, 2005, 01:37:18 pm »
History (short one for now, might extend it later): The Rangers of Yliakum was an old faction, one that seemed to have died away, the noble members seeming to fade from it... After that, it seemed only to be a dream, a dream which young Farren Kutter had every night and all day. He grew up alone, his family having abandoned him for some unknown reason, and he was bombarded with evil. Then one Sirunie Looseye, a carefree Klyros, came upon him and took him under his wing. He rought him into the faction that he led and Farren became known as the Jokester. He worked his way quickly through the ranks, becoming an Arch Knight within a week or two, as well as Sirunie\'s sidekick. But his dream tugged at him, beckoning him to make his dream real. he envisioned a faction of great warriors, respectful and kind as well as strong, following a leader into battle against the evil that assailed him as a child. He created this faction with the help of his former mentor and also the help of another friend, Masoj Hunett, leader of the Dark Shadows. Now the Rangers of Yliakum have been reborn, but most likely with different goals. But there are Rangers once again. Evil beware...

Goal: The Rangers were created for a purpose. Their purpose is to combat evil and help those in need. They are here to train young beginners in the art of combat and to transform them into warriors. They will be Yliakum\'s elite one day, and they will fight alongside the larger factions in the fight against evil.

Ranks:
1- Beginner
2- Ranger Apprentice
3- Lesser Ranger
4- Ranger
5- Experienced Ranger
6- Adept Ranger
7- Accomplished Ranger
8- Mistress of the Rangers
9- Master Ranger

The highest rank attainable will be \'Accomplished Ranger\'. \'Mistress of the Rangers\' is reserved.

Recruitment Requirements:
I ask that you at least know, if vaguely, the basics of the game. These are: fight, loot, sell, and train. If you know those at least at the most basic level, feel free to ask me if you can join. I also require you to be kind and helpful when you can. If someone is pissing you and everyone else off, feel free to be just as rude back. I also would like respect from lower ranks given to superior ranks. It would make it a better RPing guild as that is what I am trying to set up here. Respect is one of the main things I ask. And respect isn\'t a one way thing. Respect should be given from the superiors to the lower ranks as well.

Rank Structure:
New players with no experience will start out as \'Beginners\', if they have knowledge of how to fight, loot, sell, and train but are still quite new to it, they will start as \'Ranger Apprentices\'. If they know how to do that and are able to make money and such and are ok at playing, they will start out as a \'Lesser Ranger\'. From there, they must do quests and jobs for points, and once you reach 100 points, it is a rank up. If a superior asks you to do something, please do it unless it seems wrong. The higher the ranks, the higher the responsibilities. If you wish not to have jobs within the guild, do not do the quests. Accomplished Rangers and Adept Rangers might even have different roles, such as weapon collectors and such.

Yet another guild whose purpose is to fight evil.  Excellent.  Hopefully you will stay around long enough to be cut down like the rest.
So um... good luck.  Though one point, It might be good if you made your ranks a little more interesting, instead of just different prefixes for them.

Believe me, I am trying to think of better rank names. These ones annoy me sorta... but they get across my point about them for the most part.

A great start for rebirth of a guild....
You may want to start on making a website and maybe underlying more details on the structure, heirachy and other things...
May good fortune shine upon your guild!

Thank you. I got the same advice from a friend, and I intend on getting a website (Well, a better one anyway. I have one but it is phpBB and I don\'t like managing those much.)

How about

1 Runner\'s apprentice
2 Runner
3 Lead Runner
4 Scout
5 Lead Scout
6 Hunter
7 Ranger
8 Lead Ranger
9 Mistress of the Rangers
10 Master Ranger

where to become a Runner you must work for a Runner as his apprentice and apply to the lead runner for promotion... and so on and so forth?
Her Royal Highness Lolitra Hollinthy Purrty nods regally 'I am delighted to meet you' her tiara twinkles in the crystal light.

Yet another mass-recruiting guild. Clearly this will be your downfall.

Mass-recruiting? Excuse me, if I were a mass-recruiting guild, don\'t you think I would have more than 6 or 7 members? The people who ask on here to join are people I watched and asked to join and I had them read the thread before they said yes or no.

Thats some harsh requirements. Reading a thread? Man. Maybe you could actually get to know them before you invite them in.

Think I didn\'t? I was speaking to them for a while before I was letting them in. I do not mass-recruit. I asked them to read the thread to see if they wanted to join, to see if they liked the guild. If you are not here to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, then leave the thread.

Yes another guild to fight the evil. You judge their fate before events take place? Do you shout insults then hide in a bush as well? Hmph

Good luck with your guild, a purpose in life is better then no purpose at all.

Thank you. Naturally, Ramlambmoo at least had a bit of helpful advice in his post, about the ranks I mean.
