NPC attacking experiment
« on: October 26, 2005, 12:41:24 pm »
I\'ve just conducted some experiments on the oddly passive NPC\'s and figured it could be handy to report my finding somewhere. Maybe it will help the devs figure out what exactly went wrong if they haven\'t already.

I experimented with the rogue near the warehouses in Akkaio. It seemed that it wouldn\'t attack me or move as soon as I got near enough. When I initiated an attack from far away or casted a spell it slowly crept near. Then if I timed my approach right it would sometimes hit me once but as soon as I was close enough it stopped again.

Last night I did some experiments regarding the same issue. I went after a larger beasty that should have killed me outright... and still no dice. It seemed I was invunerable. I later jumped off the top of a cliff and died... crashing PS in the process. Watching the text during fighting... there was no mention of the beasts fighting back at all...

In addition, unless training has drastically changed... I am unable to train at at this time...

Also... progression points aren\'t updating until you restart the game. I jumped from 9 to 19 after restarting.

I noticed there is another thread titled Weird Invunerability... which I believe is over the same issue.

I\'ve noticed that since the update last weekend,  the monsters have not been as aggressive as they once were.  I don\'t feel they care that I stand near them anymore, if I stop attacking them they don\'t goad me on like they used to.

I did notice the odd creature inching up, and I had gotten so used to the spinning and then walking right at me that I was sort of intrigued.  Sneaky little bandit.

Which brings up another issue I have noticed.  My character loses focus on the fight the moment I click on anything - including the floor under me.

I experienced that too...

/me is impervious to attack

...or so I thought, the Ulber layed the smack-down on me when I wasn\'t looking.

I to also noticed these problems. I was in the arena trying to get to rogues to come beat on me while I took one of the glads. The rogues inched up slowly but it took me killing 4 glads before the rogues reached me. once they were standing in front of me they didn\'t move, or attack me. :(

/me thinks the npc are wimps and need to get their fight back
I've been outside, it's overrated and the graphics suck!

There are a lot of problems connected to the NPCs due especially to the fact that the client that handles them has been crashing rather frequently.

Please, just have patience because we are trying to fix all possible troubles that unfortunately have appeared after the update.
