Nexevos' Story
« on: October 26, 2005, 07:07:44 pm »
I know this is a little short but I just thought I would give a little background to my character

Nexevos? Story

I regain consciousness coughing soot from my chest, attempting to open my eyes is painful as blood has encrusted them shut. The air is heavy with smoke and upon standing the terrible reality dawns on me. Before me I can just make out the shape of the charred remains of our home.
?Acrena? I cried, ?ACRENA??
I look around sharply ignoring the agonising pain from a wound on my shoulder, praying she is not hurt but my cries are not returned. I begin stumbling towards the remains of our home when a gust of wind takes the smoke long enough for me to see, my darling Acrena and our unborn child hanging from the only remaining unburned post. I fall to my knees, tears burning my cheeks as they shed.
?Why, why take them and not me also?? Again I lose consciousness.

I again wake to the sound of crackling wood, my eyes open less painfully this time and they are greeted by the friendly face of Krefrin, the neighbouring farmer. Every muscle in my body cried out with pain as I attempt to move. I try to speak but my throat is sore from the smoke inhalation. Krefrin raises a finger to his lips, turns to pick up a jar and slowly offers the water to my lips.
?Drink Nexevo? he whispers.
Even the cold water burns as I consume merely a drop. I start to weep as my painful memories return to me.
Barely audible I ask ?Who, why??
Krefrin looks at me with sympathy, stands and approaches a table nearby.
?Your cattle were their purpose, as for whom??
Krefrin picks up a short sword from the table.
\"I found this close to your body\" he says.
Even with my vision slightly impaired the craftsmanship of the blade was unmistakable, Bandits.

Their mistake was to neglect ensuring my death, my destiny is clear, to avenge the death of my family?
