Ritual dance
« on: October 28, 2005, 12:04:38 pm »
I\'ve had this idea some time ago ...

Why not attempt some sort of ritual group dance? It won\'t be anything special since we all know our characters walk around pretty stiff but I think it could work and more importantly it could be fun!
Imagine seeing a dozen people .. Kran, Klyros, Stonebreakers, Enkis, .. all trying to move around at the same pace and in the same way so it actually looks decent. If nothing else it\'ll be entertaining at the least and if we pull it off, mix some spell effects in there it could become quite a show. If possible at all I would like to get a group of dancers ready to perform at my festival in a month.

So far Archon, our lead dancer, and myself have created some moves along with an idea to weave spells in it. I\'ll post the moves below. Hopefully our Yliakean citizens don\'t have too much pride to shake their booties and look silly with us on the dancefloor though.

Now I don\'t want to hear things like \"It won\'t be possible with all the lag and the lack of movement.\" I know it\'ll probably just look silly .. chances are we\'ll never pull it off decently but this is about the fun. It\'s just about saying \"we tried and we had fun doing so!\" There is already enough fighting and killing going on in Hydlaa .. how about something peaceful and creative instead. If you\'re interested in trying this out with us speak up here and I\'ll have Archon set up some group training sessions.

The moves:
-center mage starts casting rock armor to give the starting signal \"one, two, three .. hit it!\"
-step forward, sidestep left, center, /greet, sidestep right, center, step backward, turn 45? and repeat whole 3x
-rows jump forward one by one, starting from the front
-mages cast flameburst near the end and weakness instead of the sidestep, greet, sidestep part.

Bust a move, Yliakum!

But who is going to volunteer to get killed by this dance?
You need a target to cast the flameburst or weakness, right? :P

Good luck. Seriously. If you\'re actually suggesting trying this on Laanx, that is, probably the laggiest, most unstable server in the entire world at the moment... goooooooooood luck. :P Fun idea though.

One flame burst or weakness spell won\'t kill anyone. Everyone knows how wimpy magic is at the moment :P But yes can\'t make an omelet without breaking some eggs ;)

And yes Moogie I know lag is probably going to make it even funnier than it is supposed to be. That\'s alright though .. we\'ll have some laughs at least.

Of course mages will need to challange someone to a duel before they may do that. Could make things messy.

Challenges can easily be made before the dancing starts so I don\'t see how they pose a problem.

And that\'s why you could use some dance lessons, Val ;)

*Pictures a bunch of characters line dancing*

 :O

Getting everyone to be exact so that everything is coordinated would likely be next to impossible.  There may be lots of rehearsing required.   :D

Hmmm...Neat idea...I would wait till server becomes more stable...hate for ya to put in all this work an *boom* server crash or attack of the lagg...Can\'t wait to see it though...good luck...

I fear I can not participate....unless it is a maypole dance...and Arnigus is the pole. xD

Seriously, since my old pc died, I haven\'t been in the game at all. I have only my words to give. Use them as you will. :)

Haha, you could charge people to watch you.  Find some secluded area and try and collect tickets.

If only we didn\'t walk through eachother....
