Infinite loading time for world

After reading the known bugs page, I managed to get to the loading screen.  Unfortunately it only gets as far as loading the world.  On the known bugs page it mentions that there is a bug concerning the loading time.  It reads that it can take anywhere between 20-50 minutes, so I left it running for somewhere between 1 hour to and hour and a half.  However, it never loaded so I hit ctrl alt del and saw that it was \"not responding\" and clicked end task.  What can I do to fix this?  Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I seem to have arrived at the same place.  Initializes load world then stops.

I assume my char. is loaded tho since it does continue past that.

I did notice that the program is not responding almost immediatley after starting to initialize.

am running w2k pro with compatability set to w95 and 16 bit color.
got same results in both open and safe mode.

perhaps tomorrow?

You just have to wait! And everyone\'s says Not Responding, that doesn\'t mean kill it, just wait!

I\'m going to venture a guess and say you have some sort of Nvidia graphics card.  If so, see my post entitled \"I believe I have figured out my bug\".

 yes, is gf 2  ..hmmm.. client did not crash (yet), and did convert some time ago to 16bit per ur post.
