MAC Blender to CS exporter?
« on: November 02, 2005, 07:03:32 pm »
So I\'m trying to get up and running to make mesh contributions to the game and I can\'t seem to find out if there is any kind of working Mac version of the CS exporter for Blender. I\'ve downloaded both blend2cs and blender2crystal but I have my doubts about them being of any use.

Or maybe it\'s a moot point? The Mac version of Blender has a built-in exporter for cal3D but is it ok to use this file format for simple things (sans animation) like a rock formation mesh? We really want the .spr format for these kinds of things don\'t we?

I figured you Macaholics might know better than the other dev folks. Sorry if this is really posted in the wrong place. I was taking a chance. Feel free to move it over to dev deliberations or somewhere else.

P.S. Great to hear the .12 binaries are finished! You guys rock!

you can use blender2crystalspace if you have a mac, you just need to have python 2.3 or newer installed.  Thats the important part.  Then you can drop blender2crystal in blenders scripts directory and BAM you are going - the blender2crystal is an excellent program actually so it is quite useful.

Thanks Induane. I really thought it would be that simple as well. I usually like to do at least some homework before bothering people on the forum with another thread. So I read the installation instructions and it said to do something similar to what you suggested. The documentation says to put the blender2crystal scripts folder into the Blender scripts folder. The trouble is, there is NO Blender scripts folder (at least in the version I\'m using 2.37a). Not anywhere. I get the feeling the installation instructions were written for the windows version and don\'t apply. I\'ve tried several things and no CS exporter shows up inside Blender.
