Groffels are released
« on: November 08, 2005, 01:38:13 am »
Talad has shown us his pet Groffel, and for a few hours there were crowds around it, which was fun for a while...

He told us there was a quest we need to do, and if we complete it, we get a Groffel. Well, I went to every NPC I could think of, and none of them had a Groffel Quest. So, I would like to know how to get one...If regular players are allowed to have them :|

And please, give me step-by-step instructions.  I don\'t like working for things.

Kiern, I searched Akkaio, I searched Hydlaa, I searched Jayose, I looked in the Laanx Temple, I even went to the sewers and asked Gorbiak.

I worked hard enough, all to be for nothing, if there is a quest for a Groffel, there should be an NPC to give the quest...>.>

As if NPCs are the only ones with the ability to give quests :P

Well, he gave us a hint \"helpful person\" and I know a regular player wouldn\'t be entrusted to give the quest, but which GM would give it then? :|

jeez your an impatient fool, the quest is completeable, if you have intellect to put into it, it is very hard, I can\'t figure out a part of it thus far, not telling you where i got to though, perhaps a break from it all and ocming back will refresh the mind.

we know the quest is completable, Talad checked by running through it himself hence he ahs a familar.

good luck

Give me the location of the NPC that will give me the quest, I\'ll find it from there...I don\'t want to tear up Yliakum looking like I just did -_-

Well - if Game Masters would be regularly in game, I would finally consider to ask them.

I personally think that asking for roleplaying information on the forums is a silly idea. Quests are roleplay, the game is roleplay, forums are not. Go ask in-game :)

I think it\'s a question one should be able to ask here. Specially seeing it\'s \"just a test\" and all.

The chance is very big I would think that devs skip parts at first to try other parts (like if familiars work) out. How can you be sure Talad did the quest? He has a familiar? hmmm wait as a dev he could simply give himself one by marking as if he did complete the quest even if the quest isn\'t even added in the game.

Crazy thoughts? I think not. Now asking wich NPC gives the quest is maybe a step to far but asking if anyone found it already making sure there actually IS a quest to find I think isn\'t to far.

The PS world is supposed to be complex, right?  Characters are supposed to be different from one another?

Being able to do and try everything is an appealing idea.  Everyone wants a pet.  But if everyone had one, they would no longer be special.  I think it\'s good that only a few people will stumble upon the secret to getting a pet, it adds colour to the game.

Just few comments:
- Asking for solutions of quests is not something we like, and posting solutions is not tolerated. There is plenty of room to team up, form guilds, ask help to other players in game, or (best of all) have fun and found it out yourself. Rings, pets and  the like are NOT limited, so you will get yours even if you arrive last on the \"run\". There is no need to run, you are not paying for it, so your monthly fee doesn\'t expire, relax and enjoy the world of PlaneShift at the pace you prefer.

- Remember that quests have what we call \"lock-out times\". Meaning that an NPC will not be a slot machine of quests. He may ponder and wait before giving the same quest again, so be sure to come back to the NPCs and see if they have something new.

Enjoy!

\"How can you be sure Talad did the quest?\"

Because he has categorically stated he has done so. Talad obtained the groffel by completing the quest with an ingame character.

Exactly as quests should be. No usefull answer should ever be achieved by the words, \"Do you have a quest for me?\" Those that think things should just be handed out like that should find elsewhere to live.

\'Quests\' details should unfold before you like that of a story. What you are asking for, my friend, are the clif notes.
