psclient. exe is my enemy

ok... this is really bothering me and i really need help...  when i join game, its lading worlds and all that good stuff, but then this message pops up that says


\"psclient.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience\"


this is driving me crazy! plz help...

Make sure you have updated (thoroughly), and disabled sound just in case. Other than that, this is just one of those things that will have to be looked into and solved in time.

what do u mean by throughoutly? ive updated not to long ago and my sound has been off for at least a week..

Meaning you didn\'t interrupt it half way, and running it again brings no new updates.

Ensure that you meet this:

Minimum Requirements:

    * 1 GB free disk space

If you do, and as you say have the game updated, no sound, no vertex buffer and so on, I guess you can try the following:
Perhaps your psclient.exe is corrupted, try moving it to a different folder and run the updater again, it should get a fresh copy, try then relaunching when it\'s downloaded.

Yes, I simply pointed that out so you have a security copy of the file.
To do that, go to Planeshift directory select the psclient.exe file and drag and drop it to your desktop.
If you don\'t know how to do this, select the file, right click on it, select \"copy\" go to another folder (you can use the desktop) right click again and select \"paste\". Once it\'s done you can go back to your planeshift directory, delete the psclient.exe file, and launch the updater again, preferently in recovery mode; to do so, follow this steps: start-all programs-planeshift-planeshift updater (recovery mode) it should get a new psclient.exe, when done, launch the game again.

It is possible to run the game with only 256MB of RAM, if you really need to.  (if you have a laptop for example)  Just gets a little skitzy in the plaza and a few other areas.

It also gets \"skitzy\" in the plaza on a machine with 2GB of RAM.

Yes, well performance depends on allot of factors, not just the ram.

hey Nilrem.. how do i check to see what kind of card for like grafics and all that good stuff... just to make sure i have the recommended requirments...

There are several ways to do that, one of them:

Right click on \"My computer\" and select properties.
There on \"General\" tab you\'ll see your Processor and amount of RAM.
Go to \"Hardware\" and select \"Device Manager\" it will show you a list of all the things you have on your computer.
Expanding the first entry will show you the graphic card you have, you can also select it and right click->properties so it will show you more information such as which driver are you using and other advanced information such as where is located and which channels it\'s using, etc.

There\'s another way, right click on desktop select properties then \"Configuration\" tab. You\'ll see there writed which monitor you\'ve and which graphic card, clicking on advanced options you\'ll be able to know in more depth about how they\'re configured.
