expanding what first entry?? i\'ve found were it is but i can\'t find what kind of card i have...

Follow Nilrem\'s second suggestion, with right-clicking on your desktop and looking at the Display Properties.

mmm perhaps it\'s only in windows xp that it\'s located as a first entry, the one I\'m referring to is \"Display Adapter\", expanding it should show you which card you\'ve on your system.

Do start -> run
Enter \"dxdiag\" and hit enter.
The info you want is in the display tab.
