Meteor Glyph
« on: November 15, 2005, 12:31:53 am »
(Yesterday next to the harnequist, a meeting between the demi-god Xael and two GMs Hance and *forget the other* occurred.) Many Citizens gathered to hear what was to be said and see the feats to performed. Kaiisan was lucky enough to get a front-row seat on the event and mentioned about the meteor glyph she had seen while snooping around downstairs in  the magic shop. \"Ah yes,\" said Xael \"We are working on a powerful glyph in the Red Way which will be released soon. It is still far too powerfull however. . .\" Now- This got the whole gathering buzzing with anticipation and they all decided they could not wait to see this new magic attack. Someone soon stepped up as a volunteer and Hance was surrounded by a red aura as he chanted in some ancient tongue. All of a sudden the sky opened up and a rock the size of a fairly good sized refrigerator landed atop the victim, shrouded in a hazey orange flame. Need I say- he was sent straight to the DR . After everyone had adjusted their dropped, awe-struck jaws and overcome their startlement, Hance and Xael were flooded with messages of pure eccstatic joy which continued for many hours into the morning. . .

Now OOC- I had the most amazing dream last night! I dreamt (as I often do) That I was playing PS and the NPC server was on. Chatting to one of my good friends while hacking at a rogue I discovered a new command which could teleport your character to anywhere in the game . .  ofcourse- this made going from Akkaio to Hydlaa a simple process, and that in itself was something great! however- I began to understand the almost limitless possibilities of this New Command and entered a position value for well off the map somewhere in the unknown world out there. I arrived in a dark land shrouded in black smog. The ground around me was obsidian and onyx and the sky was occasionally litt up by an irregular orange flash and a roar. I made out the shape of two steep faces to either side of me, suggesting I was at the bottom of a canyon somewhere. I decided to walk along the path to explore my surroundings, while sending a /tell to the friend explaining this amazing new place. He sent one back saying I shouldn\'t have left the map- as the dev team where still working on the levels outside the known area. Just before I could send one back- I was interrupted as skidded to a halt in front of a vast ocean of molten lava, sluggishly making it\'s way down the canyon trail I was standing in. I wasn\'t about to wait around and see what woud happen if it got me, but before I could teleport out of there I saw a red glyph lying at the side of the road, under a rocky out-crop. I grabbed it without hesitation and teleported my ass out of there!

Back in akkiao I decided to investigate my loot and noticed that the glyph I had found was a meteor glyph like the one in the magic shop. I was eccsatic! I put it in the purify slot, praying it wouldn\'t take too long. . . It did. . . several hours later  after my anticipation had reached a peak purification was complete and I experimented with the new glyph.

NOW! IF METEOR WASN\"T ENOUGH!?!?!!! The meteor glyph could combine with lvl 1 glyphs to make new spells! First of all I combined it with fire to make \'Fireball\' a devastating red way spell! I then tried it with an ice glyph to create \'Bale\' An orb of orange light doing both fire and ice damage, then I combined it with a weakness glyph, making \'taste of death\' A black haze which weakens enemies from a distance.

Soon after I woke up. . .
Planeshift rocks!!!

When the server is running . . .

well said.  Very sad sad story.

If you get depressed easily or can\'t stand depressing stories, do NOT read this.

I\'ve seen meteor tested , a new super weakness tested (plague?), a new super frost (blizzard?), and a healing spell.

It needs to be ballanced.  There was also glitch at one point which allows you to cast heal on a character which is at full health.

The glyphs are actually in the game already, there\'s just no way for players to get them.

Well, this is the test phase of Planeshift, so we should get access to everything implimented, we should find the bugs in the spells. Instead, we have to endure black glitches, fall glitches, etc. Yet don\'t get the full benifets of the game, even if they are bugged.

A bug might be that every time you cast the spell, the server crashes.
