Client problems - User Interface.
« on: November 15, 2005, 05:33:21 am »
Hi all,

I am currently experience problems with the user interface.

When I log into the game, the circular \'widgets\' are not displayed, nor is the \'double chevron\', icon to minimise and restore the widgets.

While it does not prevent me from playing the game, as I can access inventory, chat etc, via keyboard, it is somewhat of an annoyance.

I can also say for certain that this does not occur with the *cough* Windows client, as I have this installed on another PC. *mumbles the last sentance under his breath, in the hopes that no one really hears it*.

Cheers

Running Ubuntu 5.10.

There is no difference between Linux and Windows clients  and your problem is not related to the Linux client. You just happened to exit the game with the toolbar minimized.

Here are some existing threads with the same problem and couple of solutions:

Thanks for pointing that out, it was an easy assumption to make under the circumstances.

That isn\'t the case however, as I exited the game with the toolbar maximised, using the close button. So I am not sure why or how this occurred.

Thanks once again. The second thread you mentioned was the most relevant.

Interestingly enough when editing the planeshift.cfg, as suggested by the above threads, the two lines that control the toolbar size were missing.

It would seem then that the file became corrupted in some way?!?

Nevertheless all is fixed now.

Cheers.

Custom postions and options are added to that file as needed.  If you want to change them manually, just add the lines.
