I've come to a crossroads in life...help me

I\'m having trouble deciding on my education

Currently at the age of 19, should I continue in get my Bachelor\'s of Science Degree in Business Administration with an Option in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Business Computer Programming at the California State Polytechnic University of Pomona?

Should I get to Devry/ITT, and get a 4-year degree in less than 3.

The thing is, I\'m still working on my lower division transfer, because I got kicked out of Cal Poly Pomona (although I am still on their roster) because i didn\'t send my damn SAT Scores in time, which isn\'t the point...point is, it will take me another 3 semesters to transfer, then maybe 2 years at least to get my bachelor\'s degree, and which then I\'ll want to get my masters in business administration (M.B.A). TIME is the big issue; however, it does sound better to get a 4-degree at a respected University, if I ever want to get a chance to work with computers at a corporate executive level, and boss you guys around when you guys are in the IT department.
Any ideas, how about you guys, what are you guys pursuing?

I had this problem a while ago as well. I had to chose between \"Electronics and Computers\" and \"Environmental Engineering\". I stayed for a few days, and tried to think on this matter. Then, I saw that some friends started two Universities. Of course, I stopped thinking and started them both as well, if they can do it, I can do it.



Now I realize I kinda hurried things up, because It\'s a bit difficult to catch up with both, but I guess it\'s okay.

My advice after saying what I\'ve just said? Hell with what other\'s think, just do what you really want to do.

In my 40 odds years I have found that turning right at a crossroads works for me for a third of the time at least

seriously whatever you chose over the next 30 or 40 years of your career you\'ll wish you had chosen a different path I know I do as do a lot of my peer group.

Exactly, do what you want to do, if you pursue something you aren\'t interested in then you will reach a point where you\'ll say \"Stuff This!\" and walk out. If you follow your ((Dreams)) and do what you like to do then do it.

Ummm I dropped out/failed college, got a job in computer data security, bought a house, got married and now spend my free time here - it isn\'t a bad life...   Seriously though no matter what get your education somehow - for me I\'m learning programming, 3d modeling, and 2d art, to help out my guild - it gives me better motivation to learn than \"you\'d better or else you get an F!\"  Whatever environment you\'d learn better in is where you should choose to go - you see in todays world people change careers totally about 5 times in their life, so your specific schooling isn\'t quite as important as a sharp mind and the ability to learn new things.  Get some kind of education, but enjoy it.  If a technical school like DeVry is better for you then BOOM! IF a more traditional approach to schooling works better for you go with that - seriously make the choice based on your learning style moreso than what you are learning. I promise you won\'t regret it.

mba\'s are a dime a dozen... well a buck a dozen with inflation. get the ba/bsc.

and then go out into the real world for 3-4 years. then go back and get your mba. mostly for a couple of reasons. experience,mba,[experience] is better. plus you don\'t appear to come off as all educated with no experience. the better mba schools prefer it. it means they don\'t have to teach the basics, you already know it. depending on who you hire on with, somebody else may pay for the mba.

 I mean, really, people will want to be all over your life, they will find all your secrets you don\'t want to tell, and really, until your 30-40, you probaly won\'t be liked anymore because well, you\'re pretty damn old now. People don\'t want an old guy on the stage, so, what\'ll you do after that? How will your life be like after no body like\'s you anymore. But still, since you dropped out, you\'re pretty mathmaticly illitrate (new word to me, sorry if I used it wrong) and can\'t get a job at that, since you dropped out of highschool, and probaly have the intellect of a 16 year-old, so what now?  PLUS a bunch of \"long lost uncles\" cousins, and aunts will appear asking for your money, lots of people saying you did something wrong, and make a big deal about it (Michael Jackson people?)

 And when you want to grow old and have a family, people are going to be all over your wife, make up stuff like \"omg!!!11he doesn\'t love her!!!!!!111\" And make a big deal out of family issues. You probaly won\'t be able to see so well as a rockstar, as people are always flashing cameras in your face. It\'s actually college that I\'d be dropping out of, and I do plan on finishing it.  As far as being an over the hill rock musician, there are actually a lot of opportunities, even though none of them pay very well.  Being a studio musician, having a number of gigging bar bands and club bands, teaching, publishing, composing for TV shows and commercials, and if you ~were~ famous then there are plenty of successful bands made up of \"old folks\".

Staying away from drugs is definately important though, and not just for musicians but for everyone.  It\'s too easy to take that stuff too far, and I\'ve seen it ruin and even end lives.
