Redundant Error?
« on: November 25, 2005, 01:53:08 am »
hey, I\'ve been looking around, and I haven\'t found
anything to solve my problems. The only possible reason
might be my video card. This is what I encountered in
Terminal.

What OS? Did you update? How (which updater)? From which mirror?

We need more information to help you. :)

I ask for the second time: which mirror did you update from? Which updater did you use?

opps, sorry!

I updated from OS 10.3.x: Updater-old.jar (23 k), and I changed the updatecfg.xml file with the faster server. the updater client is version 0.3.007, I don\'t know if there is any better version or if this information is relavent.

sorry about not including the other information the first time!

I really hope the problem could be resolved, I really want to play this game, it seems preeeeety awesome!

thanks for your help!

Ok... hrmmm... I\'d suggest deleting everything except Updater.jar and updaterconfig.xml. Then run Updater.jar (make sure it uses Mirror 2 or Mirror 3) from inside your Planeshift folder.

the updater is now working, but I am wireless most the time, so I haven\'t updated yet. Thank you very much!

I\'ve read posts from other people addressing the topic and would like to ask my question straight forward because no one else is answering it : are you saying that if I have 10.3.9, and hav nVidia, planeshift won\'t work for me? It would seem so, but I got it to work once. Here is what I\'ve done: I downloaded it, updated it with old.jar and the normal one. Then I clicked on psclient. It worked! Great, I thought, I can finally play after hours of attempts. I logged in, and everything went right. Then, I decided I wanted the window I bit bigger, so I quitted and went to set up and changed the screen size. Now when I click on it, the icon appears in my dock for a few seconds, bounces, and then disappears. If I go back to my older version, the window for planeshift opens, but then when I try to log on, it says the server is unreachable or not running.

Did you update in between? When you get new binaries through the normal updater you need to set permission bits. Just use the Updater-old.jar package to update.
