The idea of makeshift weapons isn\'t really new. My char has been throwing candleholders, mugs, chairs, etc. for ages, for example.

Likewise, makeshift tools and equipment like crutches made from branches have been employed.
However, the degree to which makeshift weapons can actually be
made by a char looks way too high in theis proposal. The club obviously is comparatively easy, even with a nail through it.
The vast majority of makeshift weapons besides clubs in medieval times were normal working tools that the wielder used on a daily basis, like pitchforks. Only a fery few would be able to actually make a weapon from materials harder than wood,
especially because you need specialised tools for it, and a whole lot of time.
Being chased by a rat and while running pick up a stone from the pavement (even one that\'s loose already), drilling a hole through it while running, then fitting a branch (taken off a tree in mid-run) into the hole, securing it with some weed or thin branches doesn\'t seem realistic to me. This would be something for the characters
only who have the time to prepare the weapon, and the skill and tools to make it. Many people wouldn\'t even manage to drive a nail through a round piece of wood using a rock.
I can see crate lids, iron rods, pales or rocks being employed as weapons on the fly, and this has been done in RP lots of times, but not making weapons on the fly.
Overall, the idea needs to be split into two sections: the makeshift weapons (which really are just things that the environment happened to provide on the fly, used as-is), and makeshift weapons that are meant to be weapons, which need to be created before getting into the situation where they come to use.
The first would probably not be too hard to implement, except that models and icons would need to be created, and rangedness isn\'t implemented yet. The second part would, as Cha0s stated, be not feasible to do just yet.
What turns me off is:

This is so much like the \"quests\" in egoshooters and adventure games. It\'s not too terribly bad, but it\'s one of the last things I\'d call \"quest\" and nothing I want in PS in larger quantities.
Edit: Anyway, for now we have low quality weapons, like the \"Ruined Dagger\" and \"Tattered Longsword\". For RP purposes, they can easily be rusty kitchen knives or things along these lines.
They should be able to be gotten through simple quests, or off NPCs if talking to them the right way.
Note that they do less damage than melee ATM.
