Compiling for powerpc...
« on: November 26, 2005, 09:54:05 pm »
Has anyone tried compiling planeshift for debian running on power pc? I\'m currently running Ubuntu on a powerbook, and would like to know how difficult it would be to get planeshift up and running on my system.

Errr... well, I\'m on a Mac and I\'ve compiled it. It actually wasn\'t that hard. I got the packages through fink and the source through cvs. It worked out fine. Just make sure to use gcc 3.3. I tried using gcc 4... ugh, that didn\'t work well...

I would think that the configure script would be able to figure out all the nasty low-level details, so it should hypothetically be like compiling PS on any other Linux.

If not, give us a shout!

It worked fine on powerpc a few months ago, so I would think it would be ok now (maybe). Good luck.  :)
