Groffel Abilities

just an idea i had while playing today...

I love to play with my little groffel, petting him and tickling him and so forth... however, there is no way to get him to respond to me. so i thought, \"what if there was a command like /pet [action]? it could work just like the /me command.\" that way, my little Aithnidiuil could have a more complex personality

then i continued thinking and came up with the idea of a whole new window type thing (like the guild, chat, system, and tell tabs in the chat window) with the pet option. you would be able to split yourself into two forms: your main character and your pet. so you could hear both what you hear and what your pet hears. as well, you could also perform the /pet [action] command.

i know the pets are still being worked on and stuff, but i just thought this might be a nice little addition.

Not sure about that. Although it might add to the role-playing, I don\'t think player should influence the world with anything else than the character. The general idea in role-playing games is to lead only one character at a time, so most likely not everyone will be fine with using such function.
At least in my opinion, player should have strong boundary of how he can communicate with the world, resembling of the way we do it in real life.

true, but perhaps just until the pets are given more personality. as of right now, they just sit there.

What I suggest is to give the pets a tad better AI. Obviously a tad better AI is a lot of work. Allow it to respond like NPCs.. Or Furbies.. You pet your pet, and he prrs or whatever sound Groffels make. You say /me kicks [pet] and he bites you possibly causing damage and lowering a \"pet respect\" bar.
