Loss of practice points.
« on: November 28, 2005, 12:26:31 am »
I can appreciate that the game is still under development and hence, unstable and buggy at times.

My question though is this, how is that any practice points gained in a session are lost with each crash, yet if you level up and the server crashes this is not lost.

It may well be a know \'bug\', and I gather not a high priority one at that.

If anyone is able to shed some light on the topic it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

When you are loaded in the world for a few seconds, the PP, HP etc. could still be 0. Is it restored after a few seconds or when you restart you client?

...if this is what I\'m thinking it is, it is his practice points in a skill (after having purchased training). After a server crash, I pretty much always lose whatever practice points I had and have to re-train ...not a thing of world-shaking import, but it is a minor irritation.

Hello,

I have had this happen to me too. Has this been reported to the bugtracker site or whatever it is?

this is what i think is happening, you client and PC runs alout of the information. the client dosen\'t realise that the server has crashed until a bit after it has crashed, it takes a few mins for it to realise. so you are mining and your client is saying you are getting crystals and exp but it cant tell the server that you are, so when you log back in the server tells your client that you got less than you did get because it never got the info that you got it. it has happened to me a few times.

By my best knowledge this cannot be true. Client does not tell the server, how many experience points or crystals or tria it got, instead it is the server that tells it to the client. Otherwise there would be already many hacked versions of clients that tell to the server anything you want (or maybe there are such clients around  8o ).

It\'s actually the other way around, the server tells you if you mined successfully or not.
So as long as you get those messages, the server is still running!

EDIT: Bereor is right ans was also faster. :)
