Always die in well
« on: November 29, 2005, 09:52:20 pm »
Hello all,

I am not sure where which forum is appropriate for this thread, so I\'ve posted it here.

I have two issues with the well in the back of the Laanx temple. First, I always die when I attempt to jump down the well. I\'ve heard that someone with 70 or so hit points should be able to make it. I believe I have just over 100. Second, when I drop into the well, the dungeon region loads with me suspended far above the floor.

Could these issues be related?

Thanks,
eggplantboy

unstick may solve that floating bit.

as for the drop down the well. it does look like there is a sweet spot. but i\'ve never been able to really to figure it out.
may laanx frighten the shadow from my path.
hardly because the shadow built the lexx.
the shadow will frighten laanx from my path.

Take some health potions with you, so that when you do make the drop,  you start off at full health.  There is another way to get into the dungeon, but it\'s not supposed to be there.

Yes, there is a sweet spot :) I\'m not sure whether it is supposed to be there or it\'s a bug.

Hello again,

You are right, there is a \"sweet spot.\" I tried running into the well from another position and wound up at the bottom with 100% health. When I tried /unstick, I was put outside the well back at the top.

Thanks for your help!

Gag helped me out on this one.

If you don\'t want to find the sweet spot every time, go into your planeshift folder to Planeshift Setup, then toggle \'keep maps loaded\' on. You should fall to the bottom with no health loss every time.  It worked for me, at least.

neh, i\'ve met the sweet spot before. it seems to be that if you *walk* into the well, you will sort of slide down the side and hit it. but if you run or run and jump into the well, you will land safely at the bottom.

Hello all,

Both running/jumping into the well and using the \"load all maps\" solutions worked for me. Thanks everyone for your advice! :)

Doesn\'t need to be \"Load all maps\" - \"Keep maps loaded\" may be enough.
