Problems
« on: November 30, 2005, 03:32:34 pm »
Hey i am completly new to this! Have looked the forum for solutions to my problem! I am running Windows XP, and my problem is i cannot connect to the server, and i cannot update the game with the updater!

I have downloaded the newest version from the main site, installed it without any problems! Tryed to update the game with the updater, and it couldnt connect to the 1st mirror, and when it had searched all the mirrors, it just went out of the updater! :S

Well, then i tried to setup the game! Heard i should disable the sound, and then i did that, and have vertex off, something i have read in the forum! But when i want to join fragnetics server, it pings out and cant connect! :(

I have opened the 7777 port, and 13331 port, without any luck!

Any suggestions, links etc that explains my problem??

thx in advance! ;)

Well, sometimes it happens that the server is down for a while (few hours), and that may be the reason why you cannot connect to it. But right now the server is up.
Maybe you should check the ports again. I think 7777 is right, but I\'m not quite sure about it.

It should be right with 7777 because it was standing in some thread! And i couldnt connect at that time you posted, so.... no PlaneShift for me! :(

try making a traceroute (tracert command) to laanx.fragnetics.com and post here the results you get.

Strange, the server was online and still is. You might check Laanx Server to see whether there are players online. When it says there are, the server is up and running.
So I guess it\'s your firewall or something similar. Anyway, I\'m not an expert, because I\'m using the linux client for myself...

well

go to run and type there cmd then hit enter
On that screen you\'d now type ping laanx.fragnetics.com and post the results.
My suggestion is that you type tracert laanx.fragnetics.com as this should give more feedback.
Hope that helps.

It says now: Tracing now route to laanx.fragnetics.com [203.81.44.229]

1. Sending error: Code 65.

Tracing finished!

Dont know what to say, just very strange!

There was no need to uninstall it, I think a proper configuration of it, allowing traffic through port 7777 udp would have done the trick.
