Great PS project needs a Webmaster
« on: December 01, 2005, 12:31:55 am »
Hello! :D

You will not be payed. Hell, you won\'t even be given cookies! But you will be the webmaster of what might be the best looking webpage PS has ever seen. ;)

Sketches of the website have already been made, all that is needed now is somebody to make the ideas come to life. I do not wish to reveal more information on the organisation in this thread, but if you are the least interested, please send me a PM or reply in this thread.

Thank you!

P.S. My post count should show you I can be trusted :)

I\'m short on time these days with other projects but it does interest me a tad bit - especially your :Unknown Posts: Count.  WTF is that? ;) Really that has me intrigued - especially since there are so damn many of them...

Edit: And 6000 plus some odd posts of unknowness - since October... thats at most 2 months.  I\'m quite active here and have a grand 400+ post count.... And I\'ve been here over a year.

Induane: I don\'t see the intrigue in having made up a number and written it in his Location field. You\'re not taking it seriously, are you? :)

Father Sengus: I\'m afraid if you want someone to create you a webpage, you\'ll have to make it seem worth it. Sketches don\'t make a good webpage- the people who will be coding it for you do. And you don\'t get talent like that for free- least of all without at least some hint of what purpose this site will serve, or some guarantee that it\'s not just another one of the ideas everyone has already made ten times before you.

Still, I\'m naturally biased towards anyone who types in such an impeccable manner. So, good luck. :]

Pfft. I\'m sorry, I won\'t work for anything less than 3 cookies a line.

Eh, seriously, I have about three or four other things I\'m meant to be working on, I think taking on another would be a bad idea :P good luck though, and perhaps you should post the sketches so that people know what they\'re getting themselves into?

Yes, a post count of 1 and writing \"Posts: 6256\" into the \"location\" field of your profile indeed makes you seem trustworthy. Here\'s all my money, I know you will take good care of it... o.O

Seriously now, your posting does sound interesting, but without a few more details, it also sounds like it\'s hyped to me...

First of all, sorry \'bout that little post count prank ;)

Well, Induane, though it would be great if you could help out, I am not after taking people away from their personal projects, so please think about it for a couple of days and then send me a PM.

Verideon: I\'ve been preparing this project together with 3-4 PS players for about 2 months now, and from what I\'ve understood they are not just your average players. So, obviously, there is something special about this project. You just couldn\'t know that :)

The reason I believe this project to be totally worth it and above all other organisations created before it, is because it will make this a more pleasant place for everyone. PS is definetely a great project but there are some things that the devs probably never will be able to do better than us, because of their busy schedules...

And Moogie: Thanks for the tip though I really don\'t want to reveal things in a public thread. The confidetiality is too important to be sacrificed like that... The people who want to know more and believe they can help out can just send me a PM and I\'ll reply to you with info and a sketch of the site, just to give you an idea. ;)

No need to say we are enforcing RP. Nah, no need to say that...

Thanks for the replies...

Haha sorry about that Induane. My bad, really :P

I just noticed Pogopuschel\'s post so here\'s my very late reply:

I\'ve thought about it and come to the conclusion that it cannot be that bad to give a little summary...

The organisation will be called The Shelter and will serve the purpose of educating people that are new to our lands in order to help them fit in more quickly. To begin with, 5 teachers will be assigned a maximum of two pupils (called Orphans) whose education they will be in charge of. They will teach them everything from manners and customs to the basics of Yliakum history, religion and geography (both conal and local). When Orphans have fulfilled their education, recruiters will be allowed to visit us at the Shelter and try their best to recruit the graduate into their guild. Couples that have been wedded by a priest will also get the opportunity to adopt a graduate, if the latter has agreed to this.

That is all you need to know at this time. The names of the teachers can wait.

Btw, Thanks to those of you who show your support. I really appreciate it.

Oh and one last thing...

Now question is...Are you being sarcastic about trusting me because I put the fake number in my location field or because I had a post count of 1? ;)

Well yeah, it was rather meant sarcastically/provocatively. ;)
