ok.. I have looked into every guild posted for about the first 3 pages of this topic. The only one I have joined is Janners way, which I joined today. as for the threads... Well I can\'t count that high... I\'m serious enough to daily search the forums to find the guild that is just right for me. Sending PM\'s, Tells and anything I can to get a hold of people. I am interested in helping others but I would rather get involved in the community and hoping to get a very high amount of respect from my peers. I figure if I don\'t find what I\'m looking for in Janners Way after so long, I will be known a little better and can find the perfect guild for me then

(btw these are all answers to Valbrandr\'s questions if you haven\'t figured that out yet.)

I\'m not sure that Janner\'s guild is particularly respected above any of the others, but I hope you enjoy your time with them.

The Janner\'s Way was actually the guild I was about to purpose.
Besides some personal quarrels of little importance, I don\'t think the Janner\'s Way has negative relations with other guilds or people.
The guild\'s structure lacks an offensive part and its members often help out people.
I can\'t think of another guild that can match your ideals like this one. Not for the moment.

Never cease to look for better, even within your new guild. Good luck.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion and I can be reasoned with. I'm probably right, though.

Of course I\'m still looking. I\'m hoping for that one day that I find a guild that is EXACTLY what I want and will be a well respected guild. But I guess I got a little while to go until I find that. Or until I get the trias and the members to make it

To do this does not mean you have to join a guild...... There are a number of ways to develop respect. (1) help newbie\'s (2) Make connection with the people who are active the most and make friends. This brings me to number.... (3) Role play and create a story. (4) Have knowledge on the back ground of yliakum by reading the history on the planeshift main website. (5) be active in the forums. (6) tour the sites of the guilds and know what they are about, and what their guild stands for. (7) once you have knowledge on the game be an advisor (8) take place in the events that are set up in the game such as tournaments. (9) and the list can go on I am sure.....

To me a guild will not gain you respect from others but only those in your guild. Your guild name maybe respected for what your guild stands for, but that doesn\'t mean you will be. I think it is up to you to make your goals become a reality.

Also there is a thread in the forums that have a list of guilds and their links to their websites. It is in the guilds forums and the thread is called the guilds list. It is at the very top and it is stickied. Good luck to you and hope you enjoy your time in Yliakum.....

I\'m not hoping to get respect from being in the guild. The thing I\'m hoping to get out of that is to be noticed more because the guild name might catch their attention. I\'m not sure if anyone on here had ever played Tony Hawks Underground online but there were \"clans\" that were so emmence and soo strong and highly respected. Those people would be looked up to for that and then respected for their abbility... idk exactly how I\'m going to work that phillosophy into this game but hey, a guy can dream can\'t he?

Ah, if the Ordo Illuminatus was still around... ;) Of course there\'d be no chance of them accepting a member just to let him or her wear their badge and show it around. Most truly respected guilds have done something to achieve that respect, and expect all of their members to carry on that way - and expect new members to contribute.

In the end though, it\'s not the guild in PlaneShift that commands respect, but the people in it. So even with a fancy name under yours, you might get a few minutes of glory, but then people will analyze you and if something is lacking, you\'ll bring the guild down.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

A claymore in each hand?

um...  \"with the two claymores in each hand\"?  I know you mean a claymore in each hand...

Unless you are Hercules or of similar strength, this should not even be possible.  A claymore blade over 1 meter long (~107 cm) with a 33 cm long grip.  It is meant to be a two handed weapon.  IMHO, the devs should fix this.

I mean really, have you ever held one in real life?  They are a struggle and I\'m 6\'0\" 215 lbs.

I can\'t even imagine how unbalanced you\'d be.

p.s.  I\'m not attacking your guild identity or weapon choice, only its feasibility.

Yes, two claymores is a bit...much. Maybe they should make the Claymore a bit larger, and call it a two handed weapon.

what did holding a claymore have to do with this topic?
Guild Knights are no longer active, DC is a great guild but requires good expectations and is VERY well organised, if you are looking for those \"if i ask you now can i be in straight away\" guilds there are plenty (usually) in-game, i was bored of the same \'lets all help noobies\" guilds so WHY are people continuing to create more, if you look at it this way, a popular guild is a guild that is different not one thats follows every other guild like sheep..

@Valbrandr well done on becoming a GM

Though, that doesn\'t have alot to do with making a good guild.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place

well have to disagree with you there Drey.

Ofcourse it\'s not everything but to be rich and all have good weapons it means the guild has to have  several active members and in my book activity is the first must for a good guild.

Ofcourse with only activity you don\'t have a good guild, but think the Crystal Warriors aren\'t really lacking there either.
