I know some people who read this will have read my other posts about needing help. I want to know what kind of guild the people of planeshift want to see ig? may it be a assasin guild, theif guild, mining guild whatever it is il take any ideas posted here. I will be making a final desicion after but i want to see what different people call a unique, good guild.

How can it be unique if you\'re using the ideas of others?

I suggest that you make the guild that you want to make.  Make the thread for it, then see how people react.

I frankly have never seen a guild of crafters, perhaps because item creation itself is unavailable for players. Then again, many things aren\'t and players make-do. But a guild of artisans, of potters, of architects - basically a guild as it would have been in a real medieval world, people with a talent and skill for something, more than an organization of like-minded individuals. I would absolutely love to see a guild of artists, with patrons, apprentices, and roleplay \"wares\" :)

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

I am not looking to follow anyones words, i am searching for ideas for a guild. I dont plan to just get an idea and use it, i will expand it and maybe add another idea to it making it original.

and to make something original is to make something that has never been seen. that means everything is inunique. I dont want to make up something but i want to make something that isnt a guild right now. Im not looking to make a evil hunting guild or a conquering guild. I want something that isnt all about fighting but not all about economy either.

They are still too diverse for what I mean :) Artisans, merchants, explorers all in one organization - and I meant a group consisting strictly of individuals with the same professions/skills.

Well, people use guilds more as social circles or as RP developements.  Look at the Community of Valnoor, Janner\'s Way, Guild Knights, and The Dragon Council.  The players in each are all extremely diverse.  The common theme is helping eachother and being nice.   So specialization isn\'t on the agenda at all.  In fact, it\'s as if people think that the more diverse the guild is, the better!  Bodacher just opened up a shop in Hydla for instance.

Then there are the RP guilds, like Dark Empire, Shinito Blades, Deus ex Trucido, Crystal Way, and Feline\'s Lair.  They operate, from what I\'ve seen and experienced, in a very different way.

Once crafting is in the game, then maybe those categories won\'t be so comprehensive.  But until then...

Hmm... Just that you\'re making a research around the community before actually creating the guild (unlike certain someone suggested), clearly shows at least there you know what you\'re doing.
So I\'ll give a hard idea.

Warriors Guild. But you know, not like all the fighting guilds, where everyone go into the duel madness, but more like Arcane Order, where you can increase potential of the class.
Make texts about philosophy of combat (even with things like not allowing to duel randomly). Cathegories such as knights, footmen, barbarians.
Offer services and send rookies to learn from experienced members. This sort of thing.

There might be many warrior-oriented guilds, but never a real Warriors Guild.

Like there is much to learn atm with the uberblades. Would have thought it a good idea before as then skill was involved (what made guildwars fun in my opinion ;) ).

A guild of fanatics might be fun. ;)

Arcane Order was doing well even before magic was implemented.
And that\'s why I say it\'s a hard idea. It actually requires imagination.

Well...just wait till most of the skills are implemented...which should be soon (PS soon...;))
Or...like Draklar said...use your imagination and wait till the skills are implemented, then the guild could be much more active in doing stuff...

You should try it out! When you\'re not happy with the guild you made, you can always reform or even recreate it (but then there might be some members who leave or get kicked). Or you can start a fighters guild, with all kinds of specialities, contests (like Dash & Bash ;) ) etc. etc. Also you could help the community with a guild like that, by training newbs, protecting travelers from Ulbernauts, etc. etc...
