The Endless Fight
« on: December 10, 2005, 01:36:19 am »
It has been many years, since the birth of life in Yliakum. It is said, that the great, Azure Sun, is the reason why the inhabitants are able to use, and control magic. Some, wished to protect the Crystal, others, wished to destroy it, and rule over Yliakum. The Ordo Illuminatis, a guild founded by the one named Cad to protect the Crystal, were in charge of its safety. They closed the final door to the Crystal, keeping it safe from harm, waiting for someone to complete the job. Yet, that someone never came...A few years later, a certain family threatened to raise an army against Yliakum. Odessa, Aluna, Embers, and Alhana, each did not have a soul...Thanks to certain events taking place, the four were defeated, and peace returned. Aluna, the one survivor, regained her soul, and lived normally.

Generations passed, and soon the Dark Empire was also defeated. After a long, dreadful battle, it was thought that Yliakum was now safe from harm...But they were wrong. The Crystal, after many harsh battles, and shocking clashes, the doors slowly opened, and the Crystal\'s colors soon grew dark, and tainted with evil. All life on Yliakum, soon started to fade. Cities, that were busy with activity, began to crumble. The Crystals mined from rocks in ancient civilizations that have long since passed, began to grow dark, as well. Only a few races survived this happening. Enkidukai, Ylians, Xacha, and Klyros. Kran, which ate these crystals, began to become possessed, and lost all thought. They soon began raising armies against Hydlaa. All hope, seemed lost...

Then, someone began to react. Misuki, the great grandaughter of Mitaki, who fought for the peace of Yliakum a long time ago, spoke.

\"My great grandfather once told me to never to give up! The Crystal may be tainted, but there is always a way to defeat evil...Always...\" She said, tears beginning to fall from her eyes.

People began to gather around Misuki, trying to make sense of what she spoke. They have defeated evil before, but it was never the Azure Sun itself. Then, they remembered...The mythical place, of which Cad sealed the doors to the Azure Sun, keeping its colors, strength, and light safe from turning dark, and tainted. But, they did not know where this place could be. There could only be one place, where the answer is held. The ruins of Jayose\'s Library. A long time ago, it held books that contained research of past explorers, and their discoveries. A conclusion to where the power of the Azure Sun came from, must have been found since then. One of the Ylians dug through the rocks, until he found a shelf holding books on the Azure Sun, and its many wonders.

He found a book called, \"The Key to The Sun\" which he guessed had the location of this building, and the door to the Azure Sun, written in it. He read on, and soon discovered the secret. The location, was up in the sky itself. Normal people could not get up there by themselves, they had to find some way to fly. Pterosaurs and Megaras had been extinct for some time, or said to be, anyway...Klyros had survived the incident with the Crystal, so perhaps they could climb into the distant reaches of the sky, and find this building.

The Klyros began to climb the remains of the Laanx Statue, and lifted off the ground into the sky. They flew for a very long time, and came back down to report that they had seen nothing. Their wings could not carry them high enough to reach the Azure Sun, thus the trip was nearly impossible. Then, Misuki got up off the ground, and came up with a plan. If a Klyros could carry her high enough in the air for her to jump the rest of the way, perhaps she could reach the building. One of the Klyros stepped forward, and agreed to the idea, but also had a concern. They might be weighed down by Misuki, and not able to carry her as high as they can normally reach.

\"Well...Perhaps you could climb to someplace high and see how far we get...\" Misuki said.

\"Yes, but I still don\'t know if -\"

\"Don\'t worry, my father trained me to be nimble, I know I can make the jump...You just do your part.\"

So, it was settled. One of the Klyros grabbed Misuki\'s hands, and began to lift off into the air. After they flew about two miles, the Klyros began to fall, so Misuki quickly jumped off his back and lifted even further. She then hit something, and quickly grabbed on to something solid, but she couldn\'t tell what she was hanging on to. She looked, and saw that it was the ledge of the bridge leading to the building where the doors were. She climbed up, and walked down the path. She had been walking for miles, but had not yet seen the building. Soon, she began to lose hope...But then, she saw it. It reached so far into the sky, it looked like the tower could go on forever. It was crumbled, and nearly destroyed, but there was a glow from inside.

\"This must be it...\" She said with hope.

She walked inside, and saw giant stone doors, that had been forced open, and broken in the process. She walked inside, and saw the darkness of the Crystal. The colors were mixing around madly, but they all became darkened with every second, soon to become pitch black. The only way to save the Crystal, and Yliakum, would be to seal the doors, and protect the Crystal from harms way. But how? The doors had been so damaged, that simply closing them would not help, she needed to do something else...But what?

Great work Suno!

Interesting idea of the Crystal being tainted...I wonder if the gods are in the story too

It wasn\'t exactly -my- idea, but I was reading through Cad\'s post on the Ordo Illumanatis, and decided to try and desipher where exactly this \"building\" is...Also, the story isn\'t complete, so hold on. ;)

Great story Mitaki, only I hate to tell you some details are wrong.  Not your fault as it was never made clear the exact events.

Odessa herself was never atully evil.  The truth about her will be known in the near future.

Aluna, Embers, Odessa all had souls.

Alhana has nothing to do with any of the familys, she is a seperate entity.

Aluna never lost her soul.  Her story is still on going.

Hope that helps.

[EDIT: As usual, spelling and grammer mistakes]

Alright, could you give me a substitute to what I already have? I can\'t fashion facts into stories (since I messed up yours over countless times reading it and still got it wrong).

I must ask this, If you were so unsure of the facts why didn\'t you just ask?.

Anyway, I can help clear some of this up.

This is what I can tell you:

Embers Wildfire (AKA Wildflame) was killed by Coalt Brightburn (Alunas father) out of jealously.

Embers looked for a way back to the world.  Because Odessa could never truly let go and blamed herself for her sisters death she was highly vulnerable.  With the aid and teachings of Alhana, Embers spirit found her way into her sisters body and thus into the living realm once more.

The two spirits fought constantly in the one body but Odessa was loosing the will.

Eventually Odessa gave in and departed her own body, and as a result it become weaker to the point of decaying.

Embers was caught a her most vulnerable time and her spirit was sealed into a sword which was given and guarded by Janner after that.

Aluna Brightburn was an innocent by stander caught up in this mess.  She departed the living realm a few days ago in a struggle with a rouge.  Aluna sacrificed herself for Alhana believing her to have changed.

Only a few remain of the family, but main figures are Coalt Brightburn & Pyros Wildfire (Odessa & Embers Father).

Alhanas story is still on going. If anyone didn\'t have a soul at that time, Alhana would be the closets match.

Unfortunatly Odessa story is far to complexe to write.
I only know my part and without input from Vicky the story cannot be completed.

[Edit] BTW I love what youve written though :D.

Ok, I still need a substitute paragraph though. All of your stories are too complicated to fashion into a story, so I had to guess. =P

Misuki looked around in a panic, she had no idea what to do. She was only a mere child, and this was much too great a task. Then, she began to hear a voice...

\"Dear child, I can help you...do not be afraid, overcome your fears, and you can accomplish anything.\"

\"Wh-Who\'s there!?\" Misuki asked.

There was no response...Misuki repeated the words in her head...then, she got an idea. She began to take tiles out of the ground, and stacked them into columns, trying to seal the door shut. It didn\'t work, but the Crystal\'s colors began to restore, though it was hard to tell. Misuki ran out of tiles to use, and decided to cut up the remains of the old doorway, and try to shape them to fit with the stacked columns of tiles. It looked very messy, and it wasn\'t alligned very good, but it held up, and other than the far right side, the door was almost completely sealed.

Misuki looked for something else she could use, but found nothing. Since the door was just about sealed, the Crystal began to restore most of it\'s color, and Misuki could feal magic returning to her body. She casted a spell of the Crystal Way, that can fix broken substances, or shape them. Misuki expanded the tiles to fill in the last space, then shaped it into what she thought looked like the old door. She used a spell of the Brown way, to strengthen the substance, and when she tugged on the door handles, they did not budge.

Misuki then looked down from the tower, and wondered how she would get back down to the ground. She thought, and thought, but nothing came to mind...she would not survive a fall that vast, and she certainly cannot fly...

I know, the one thing I need to work on is remembering to describe my characters. Normally, I describe them in full detail when I ask for them to be drawn, but I just can\'t find a place in the story to insert it, so I just say female Enkidukai or something.

She decided to try anyway. She extended her arms to the side, closed her eyes, and let gravity bring her down. Misuki was falling for four minutes, until she opened her eyes. It seemed like a longer fall than it was supposed to be, the flight up to the tower only took a few seconds, it was like the ground disappeared...

Misuki spun around and looked back up into the sky, and the tower was already out of sight. Complete emptiness surrounded her, and she didn\'t know what to do. What happened while she was up there? The ground began to appear below, but the sight made her wish she had stayed up on the tower...

The Kran had broken through Hydlaa\'s walls, and the inhabitants were fighting them off, but were no match. Misuki watched the fight in horror, forgetting that she was still falling to the ground. She saw one of the Kran looking up at her, getting ready to throw a huge chunk of pavement at her. The Kran waited for the right moment, and threw it at her with full force. Misuki quickly spun around so that the pavement was going to hit her feet, and she barely managed to jump off before it broke her legs, and shot the Flame Burst spell at the Kran.

Nothing happened...Misuki had forgotten that Kran were immuned to magic, but what was their weakness? She was never a fighter, she was just good at healing magic and other skills, she has never even wielded a sword...
