A bad idea
« on: December 11, 2005, 04:14:04 pm »
I was walking to hydlaa from ojaveda and went through the loading zone in the ivory tunnel.  Apparently there was an ubernaught I somehow didn\'t see (because of my camera angle) at the loading zone too.  So, as I was loading (and my comp takes a couple minutes to do it) the ubernaught was killing me.  I just loaded and it took one last hit on me and killed me.

Was the ubernaught there from a dev? if so, it is a very bad idea.

Which one are you?

well it was yesterday (december 10) and it wasn\'t there when I walked in.  If it wasn\'t there then I guess it followed someone to the load zone and then someone finally killed it.

Nope wasn\'t a dev\'s idea
The evil is like an iceberg.
The Dark Empire is the little floating part you can see, but below this, there is a huge part...

People simply go too close and the NPC starts an attack. Even if you run away or keep going whenever you intended to go, they follow you. That makes NPCs to move away from their original locations. If they see another target (you), they attack you. It is not a fault of devs (or it is because they made it working that way ;) )

This is why I rarely leave Ojaveda. Most of what I need is in the area after all.

Ah! That would have been my fault you see erm, well it followed me.
Oh and also, I seen it later outside the forrest it has been everywhere there was also a Trepor with it if you saw that or not. Maybe someone killed the Trepor.

It\'s a known issue that has been submitted to the bugtracker - monsters should definitely be unable to attack players during load times.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
