Bigger deposits of ore would seem more realistic and make mining easier. Finding a deposit of ore and the more skill you have the more ore you get. but this would add to the ore you get now, one at a time. and why is it that you cant mine in the same spot as before??? when you get an ore in RL doesnt that make you wanna dig in the same place again, hoping to find more?? that is how the gold rushes started. They didnt mine once, get a gold nugget then move on to another claim.

Yea I kinda thought the same thing but I think it was done origionally to keep people from making such a quick profit off of it - as mining is so much tougher now, I think the issue is nominal and this can\'t dig in one place thing could easily be removed without losing balance.

like i said there could be a system with it

mining lvl 1-5 1 ore
mining lvl 6-10, 2 ores
mining lvl  10-15, 3 ores

im not sure what the max mineing lvl is but you get the point. and the #s could be changed too.

And with higher levels comes a higher chance of finding nothing, to even out the extra ore found with each dig.

There are plenty of ways to make mining more realistic yet balanced at the same time.

I think that higher levels = find stuff more often is enough of an advantage.  If it gets to the point where you know that you\'ll find something nine out of ten tries, then that\'s good enough without extra benifets.

Not being able to mine twice in the same place might be there to fight bots, but I\'m not sure.

What I ~do~ know however is that once crafting is in the game, then mining will be completely different.  All that ore will actually have a price on it, and if you\'re able to supply crafters with a steady supply of what they\'re looking for than you\'ll be in a good position.

Ha.  Sorry for the double post, but I didn\'t read this the first time.  It reminds me of the lock picking skill in daggerfall.

For every level you have in lock picking, you get better at picking locks.

However, for ever level you gain, the locks you find become harder to pick!

It was the most useless skill you could have.  Especially since there was an \"open\" spell which any class could use as long as they had enough mana.
