Hammerfall are Swedish, actually ^^
If you didn\'t yet, check Lost Horizon. Another Swedish power metal band.

Most nationalities of metal bands you can find on http://www.rockdetector.com

I don\'t know how they handle mixed groups though, but I guess they found their way.
And yes, the fathers of powermetal are german.

There are a lot of good Swedish bands.  I don\'t know if anyone here is familiar with Breach?  They had a few really great albums in the mid to late 90\'s but broke up a few years ago.

EEK!  Sweden!  Us Scandinavian 80\'s pop band are fighting a seperate war, between A-ha and ABBA.  ABBA is winning, but they stink.  Brethren!  Unite! :D

Melodic Deathcore?  That\'s a new one.  I\'ve heard them called deathrock, gothrock, and pre-nu-metal, but not \"melodic deathcore\".  Their music isn\'t melodic, and they don\'t have strong musical connections to death metal OR to modern hardcore.

Make sure that you listen to stuff from the album \"It\'s me, god\" first.

I\'m listening to \"If you want peace....\" right now by COB.

Really, parts of it are nu metal, parts of it are guns and roses.

Maybe I\'m getting old, and I don\'t \'get\' all this melodic ear-friendly stuff anymore. :-D

While Finland owns music-wise, Germany is the best country when looking at the Power Metal scene...
To think of bands like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Human Fortress, Freedom Call, Mob Rules, Grave Digger...

And of course Blind Guardian are supreme leaders when it comes to power metal.

Hmmh, must admit, I don\'t know that...I only know they sing in Swedish because Katla thought it sounded more Trollish :D And then Katla had to stop singing so they just kept on singing in Swedish...
It\'s possible tho that part of Finland speaks Swedish.

From 7th grade, at least that\'s when I had to start. And yes, there are some communities in Finland that speak mostly swedish.

Hey all, I\'m Finnish and I love the metal.  Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, etc... rule!  But I love all kinds of heavy music.

There\'s also another Finnish band similar to Kalmah and Children of Bodom. Norther, and what\'s really, really cool about this band is that their vocalist is Petri Lindroos from Ensiferum :D
