Disappearing pets

Hello all,

I apologize if there is another thread on this subject, but I haven\'t been able to find one.

I know of at least one other player who has had their pet disappear. In his case, he dismissed his and couldn\'t get t reappear. In my case, my client crashed (still being able to see others move about and chat). When I got back into the game, my pet was gone. An advisor said that I probably need to do the quest again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. When I take the ring off and put it on again, I get a message that I already have a pet and should take care of it. But I have no pet!

P.P.S. I don\'t know if it makes a difference, but I had just completed the quest to get the ring of familliar and put on the ring. About a minute later, while still in the magic shop, my client crashed.

Usually, you only need to put on the ring one time.

From then, you should use the command \"/pet summon\" to call it, and \"/pet dismiss\" (or right-click on it) to dismiss it.

If this does not work anymore, it might be necessary that a developer checks the database. There have been a few unlucky players in the past, but they could be helped.

I\'ve found that the pet isn\'t really gone, it is just invisible or somewhere you can\'t see it. Sometimes when my pet has disappeared and I walk into a different area it pops up again for a second before being off again. Hence the \"You already have a pet out.\" message, it is there somewhere but you just can\'t see it.

I have found that (when the npc client is working) summoning the pet sometimes makes it appear at the point you were at when you first summoned it. If I wait long enough, the pet walks up to me at my new position.

Its a bit random though - sometimes the pet appears then wanders off.

I have written a macro that moves the pet to me:

/pet stay
/pet dismiss
/pet summon
/pet follow

This (oddly) makes the pet walk towards you!
