Even as a joke, it\'s brought up an issue that seems to push our buttons pretty well.  Part of the idea of an RPG is to create your character for a fantasy world and then live up to your creation.  Most GM\'s that I know try hard to encourage their gamers to stay in character.  Fact is, I don\'t want to role play a fantasy game with a bunch of people who type like they are trying to be inner city gangsters (whether they are in real life, or not).  Going out of one\'s way to type in cryptograms is a pain and hard to decipher.  Not to mention being nearly impossible for those of us who don\'t speak English as a first language.  In the end it all comes down to individual choice, I know, but I for one would like to see the d00d speak kept to a minimum.

Apparently the Team cares some what about it since you can\'t use numbers, or underscores or anything in your name.

Well, yes, that\'s all true...but it\'s just a bit odd that a joke gets more views/replies then any of the real ideas on this board (even though all of you turned it into one)  :)

Would it be a good idea to have a client-side word expansion table?  If it expanded your messages automatically, then fewer people would get annoyed at you.  (And certain commands could be abbreviated...)  On the other hand, it could expand common abbreviations that you hear from others, reducing your own frustration level.

Nobody does.  There are perhaps a handful of people in the world who can translate it into contemporary German, and even fewer who can make it intelligible to contemporary English speakers.  What you really mean is \"Modern English\" (the language of Shakespeare and the KJV Bible) or \"Middle English\" (the language of medieval times, before the Norman conquest).

Why we all read link threads? Where else can you learn how to show a person that he is stupid without him taking notice of it ;)
