stamina not resetting upon death
« on: December 27, 2005, 04:44:56 am »
I don\'t know if this is an overlook or by design but stamina doesn\'t return to 100% upon death, only health does.

I am curious as to the rationale if it is by design.

edit:  No one else has said anything, so....

I haven\'t found a solution to this, but I\'ve found a few ways to cope.  Basically, use the mouse to move your character, as in do the thing where you click on the ground to move.  It seems like you can don\'t lose stamina if you move this way.  Also, for me, if I start running when I\'m at 20% stamina, it will jump down to 19.7% or so.  So I have to wait until I\'m at around 20.5% before it\'s safe to run.  It will jump down to near 20%, but once I start moving it starts to rise again.  It\'s a pain, but if you know how to cope with it then at least you can play.

I actually replied in that post.

I posted this thread because I felt it was a different issue.  I\'m not talking about the rate of gaining or losing stamina.  I\'m talking about the following:

Die with 0% health and 20% stamina.  You respawn in the Death Realm with 100% health and 20% stamina.

I was just asking if it was intended that you not have full stamina after dying or if it was an oversight.

I noticed the same thing. Also, I noticed if I left the game i.e. logged out, when ever I logged back in my stamina was still where I left off. Even days later.
I think this is due to the fact that people took advantage of going to DR to re-up their stats or log out then back in for the same purpose and believe that this is the way the problem was solved.
I have no problem with this personally, but it would be interesting if there was a sleep mode you could go into to regain your stats. It could go with the in game time......or you could just stand still and talk to people.

Well...most of the monsters in the game won\'t attack a character who doesn\'t move, so its usually safe to leave your computer for 10-15 minutes. There is something to be said for a game that forces you to take a break every once in a while...
