cannot update

darn.. i downloaded the game, couldnt wait to play it, and yet im having a problem as always. of course the first thing i did was try to update. i noticed that nothing really happened. i tried to login and it told me the stuff about either the server is not available or is unreachable. so i tried to update again. it didnt work. so, i port forwarded udp port 7777. that didnt work. i tried updating again, except this time with \"PlaneShift Updater (recover mode)\". it showed the update process in dos (oh yeah, im on windows xp lol). it said that none of the download mirrors were available. were they really not available or is my computer just not connecting? im pretty sure not being able to update is a big problem. any help would be appreciated.

Hm. Well, the server seems to be up and available now (you can check the status here), but it could have been down when you tried. Can you ping the server to see if your connection is timing out? Simply type \"ping laanx.fragnetics.com\" in the Windows run command (without the quotes) and see if you\'re getting any replies.

If you\'re behind a proxy, router, or firewall you\'ll not only need UDP port 7777 for the game but regular HTTP for the updater.  Edit your updaterconfig.xml in notepad or something:

Set active to 1, enter your proxy\'s IP for host, and the HTTP port you\'re proxying on for port.

alright yeah, i can ping laanx.fragnetics.. i got 4 or 5 replies. but, i tried updating again with recover, still doesnt work. heres the message at the end : \"CRITICAL ERROR: Ran out of mirrors! Game cannot be updated.
Exiting PlaneShift. Press Enter... \".  ok so maybe i should update my updaterconfig.xml? alright im attempting to do that... ok maybe for some reason this wouldnt work, but i just allowed http port 3128 from \"my router setup > port forwarding \". also, i tried to ping the server from the game updater, and it said \"server didnt respond\". something has to  be wrong since the method you mentioned for pingning did work.
