Gods and lvl system
« on: January 02, 2006, 08:16:46 pm »
I was thinking that in the sinning colum that people were saying that talad and laanx wanted their own followers and i was thinking that having powers that following one god gave you, talad was a warrior and so the powers would be for battles if you followed him, laanx was a a person who sounds like a sort of holy light bringer.
Mabey you could go half way in each religion and learn half the powers and then for the top/better half you had to specilize in laanx or talad.

And i was also thinking that a lvl system that counts how many hours you hav been playing, like this:
0-1d= un-trained
1-10d= in-training
10-15d=warrior
15-23d=good warrior
23-35d=hero
35-45d=great hero
45-70d=epic hero
70d+ =ledgend
d= day

also if you dont get it 1 day is 24 hours and the system counts those hours induvidualy, heres an example: some one plays one hr, every day, it will take them 24 days to get to in-training, if them sameguy plays 2 hrs=12days
1/2hr=48 days
hope you see my point

A generic leveling system like that is out of place.
And im not sure if PS is much of a Holy Crusades game, we have a leveling system in place as it is.

As I already stated in other threads, I don\'t like the idea of \"the more someone plays, the stronger he is\". It\'s discouraging for using of multiple characters and is unfair to people who don\'t have all that much time to play.
Others could simply abuse it by logging on and leave their character like that..

Rewarding players based on the in-game hours is already discussed many times. They say nothing about the \"quality\" of your hours spent, only the \"quantity\". And it is easy to log in and leave your PC running for days without doing anything at all.

We do not have firearms, how are you going to do that? :P

Back to the topic. There are actually two ideas in the original post. The first one tells about following either Talad or Laanx and having different powers depending on which god you are following. A search for \"laanx talad\" didn\'t show a wish similar to this and it might be an original idea. Or I am doomed and cannot see it :)

what i mean by the lvl system is not that u get stronger and that, all i mean is that when u look at a player stats u get a genral idea of their playing time as a guidence to if u should help them if they look like they are losing a fight or somthing like that.

How will knowing the number of player hours help you determine if a player is \"losing a fight\"? These things are much better learned through interaction with someone - the character descriptions are meant to be for descriptions only, for things your character should notice using his or her own senses. Player stats shouldn\'t be visible to anyone but the player those stats belong to :P Maybe adding an \"Hours since character creation\" would be neat, but to have it mean something in-game would be OOC.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

If you\'re going to help someone do it.  It doesn\'t matter who they are.  I\'m the kind of person (IC anyway) who will blast a monster with a freeze spell or two whether it\'s needed or not.  Of course, sometimes I\'ll just keep on going...
