Laggy
« on: January 03, 2006, 08:01:16 pm »
I\'m experiencing alot of lag.  I died and I tried to get out but I fell, now I\'m in some sort of black abyss and I cant get out. Then I typed /unsitck and tried to get there again but I keep falling because the spiral staircase is black along with the background, so I cant see my way out.

System Specs:
  Machine Model: eMac
  CPU Type: PowerPC G4  (3.3)
  Number Of CPUs:  1
  CPU Speed:   1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):  256 KB
  Memory: 512 MB
  Bus Speed:  133 MHz
  Boot ROM Version:  4.6.4f1

(not sure if i got those from the correct area, please tell me if its wrong and wher eI am to go to get the correct ones)

Hi there,

Try running PlaneShift from Terminal: get into your PlaneShift directory and then use the following command:

./psclient.app/Contents/MacOS/psclient -fullbright

including the period at the left. This will allow you to see what shouldn\'t be black and bay ease the lagginess a small bit.

Good luck!

P.S. If you do a search on the forums and check the stickies labeled \"IMPORTANT,\" you will find information on all sorts of issues (including what you described) and you won\'t have to wait around for someone t orespond to your post. ;)

OK, thanks, but I know nothing about using the terminal.  Can you give me step-by-step instructions on how to run it through the terminal, please?  Thank you.

Again, please read the search and read the Guide. I mentioned it in your other thread because it was useful and told you to read it thoroughly. If you\'d done that, you wouldn\'t need to ask this question. ;) The lag issues have been addressed in numerous posts, so I\'d suggest searching for information on that (though I can tell you now that there is no \"fix,\" per say). As always, if anything in the Guide is unclear, please PM me. iLock.
