ATTENTION guild owners!

I am working on a site which guild owners can list their guild on.  Guild owners will be able to log in and edit their info at any time.  I know there are a bunch of sites that already provide guild lists, including the sticky here... but that\'s besides the point, I\'m hoping mine will remain updated (by the guild owners themselves, not by me) and the information is sortable (and in the future maybe I\'ll add search features)!

So, if some of you guild owners would like to beta test my site, please go to http://guildlisting.com and click on the \"Guild Owners\" link in the top right corner and sign up.

Please understand that this site is still under construction, although the main functions are working.  I will post here again once the site is fully operational.

Nice. I\'ve been looking to do something like \"featured guild\" as well. This would be where a guild is interviewed ( can be in character or out of character ) about their guild and we can post it on the main site.

If this really hits off, it might as well just replace the stickied Guild List, since the site will be able to provide a lot more content :) Almost like Kada\'s, but... well, hopefully updated more.

Make the site as aesthetically pleasing as you can, too :D Think of all the sections (and subsections!) you may want, and then build around that. Good luck!

I suck with graphics, so I am at a loss to make it really look better.  Maybe someone would like to volunteer some design abilities?  Anyway, that is better left for a later time, we\'ll see if the site actually gets used first.

I like this idea... once I get a nice working website and someone good to manage it, I\'ll be able to get on and sign up with that :D You got my support :)

I\'d happily answer questions... hey, think on this site, the guilds could have their symbols shown? I know that I made one and don\'t want it to go to waste besides in my signature :P

Guild symbols or logos are shown underneath the Guild Name.   You can see the little pic I put up under my test guild.  

I am just waiting for some guild owners to join so I can see some more entries in the listing.

ylikone, if you need any help authoring the site PM me. I\'ve been building them for 8 years.  I\'m not very good with graphics but I can do just about anything else with a web page.

Also, if some guilds need help authoring a webpage let me know.

this is a good idea... since kada\'s has gone all quiet (shamefully) planeshift needs another updating guild thing


i would recomend you get some other people to help you update :)

That\'s the great thing about my site... *I* don\'t need to keep the info updated, guild owners log in and do it themselves whenever they want.  Each guild owner gets an account to be able to edit their listing entry.

Wow! Sometimes I think you have way too much time on youre hands :). Nice idea though. Ill make sure I tell Charims to put us in.

I could probably also help you with the graphics.

Sometimes I do have too much time.  Not always.

Thanks for everyone that is offering help with coding and/or graphics.   I\'ve got the HTML/PHP/MySQL coding under control, but as I have no graphics skills or color scheme skills (I\'m color-blind), then whatever help or suggestions in those areas I can get, I\'ll take.

Firstly, does somebody want to suggest a better color scheme?  Shades of blackness is boring.  I would need suggestions for background color, text color, link color, alternating cell-row background colors, and table header background color.

Textures are a lot more interesting :) Check Kada\'s for example. As for deciding on color schemes, some neutral brown seems a good choice. There\'s a really nifty color palette creator you can use, a color blender, and a color mixer that will help you out tons when trying to decide on tones that will look good together ;)
