Pronouncing your name....
« on: January 09, 2006, 06:47:56 pm »
So here is the story....
1) Dylia gets convinced by Zorbels to download skype
2)Dylia downloads skype and takes two months to get a mic XD
3)Dylia finally gets mic and a few other players on skype

The most common question.... \"Dylia how do I say your name?\"
I think \"for freaksakes I don\'t know\" but then try anyways
So I thinks its pronounced as follows: die-la  [Edit Add] or as Drey pointed out I said it like: du (as in duck) lie-la [End Edit]
I know it doesn\'t make sense but whatever

So......... now the REAL question :D

How do you pronounce your name? >.>

that\'s how I pronounce your name when I see you about...

Snoin = Snow-in.  I came up with it because I was looking at my Scion mousepad (I drive a Scion tC) and I was eating sno-caps when I made my character...

The evil is like an iceberg.
The Dark Empire is the little floating part you can see, but below this, there is a huge part...

Kah-ree-you, not Carry-you. I hate it when people mess up like that ;)

*edit* Turns out I always pronounced \"Dylia\" Bebel\'s way, too. Funky.

Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Mine might be a bit non-intuitive for english speaking people:

\"Hee-tahn-kree-ahs\" with the accent on the second syllable

Not that I really mind if people pronounce it somewhat different.

Hmm.. That\'s actually quite close to how I would have pronounced it.

I would pronounce \"Dylia\" probably that way:

Dy... -- with the \"y\" like in \"my-stery\"
...li (berty) - a

BTW: I have Skype too. But be warned, I\'m a native german, my written english is better...
__

What, my name? \"Gag\" - pretty obvious, maybe a little towards an open \"a\" like in \"after\".
