Rats kill with a single bite.
« on: January 14, 2006, 01:21:29 pm »
Tonight the rats are killing me with a single bite, damage at around 3.0 - 4.0 points (Rats do partial point damage?)

Also, and it may just be me, but the \"key phrase\" given on the Thorian\'s Shield quest does not seem to be recognized. Nor can I get him to recognize very basic sentences regarding what I need him to do to the shield.
I can\'t tell if this is a bug or not because I hadn\'t run the quest before.

As for the rat thing, I believe it\'s a new issue, I\'ve been to poked about it, so it seems to be true that now rats are far more dangerous than what they should (probably related to the changes they made to the server) and apparently seems that every creature kills with one hit only (Thanks Narfus and Shauri for the report)

There are also reports about mined items pricings (some not being bought and so, I guess that\'s too related with the updates they\'re doing to the server, most likely, putting it ready for crafting)
(Those price \"changes\", as well as that \"power\" of creatures shouldn\'t be roleplayed, imo ;) )

As for the key sentence, NPC have always had problems with that, try some sentences involving _FIX_ or repair, and _SHIELD_ or item. Good luck with it. ;)
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

There was a server update, and as usual something we had not thought to even looked at changed in some way that no one would look for. In this case, everyone\'s hitpoints are being calculated as 1.
Oddly enough as I was writing the above I found what was at fault. My bad.

NPC vocab should get better, but right now it might be rough because of the new system.

Today, a little while ago, I had this problem with one of the three Trepors in the valley in ojaroad. Two trepors damaged ordinarily(5-10% for my character). But the third one damaged 100%! I died, and the health rapidly rose to 100% again on the spot(valley).

But after that the server immediatly was off and I wasn\'t able to login until now.

Thanks for the quick response! You folks are doing a bangup job on this, IMNSHO.

On the quest (I suppose this no longer belongs here, but..)

I\'ve tried those exact words, with, and without articles and adjectives. In other words, phrases as simple as \"Fix shield\" do not seem to register.

Ah well, considering another thread elsewhere about the dubious value of shields, I\'m not that concerned, but it would have been nice to complete something.

I discovered this bug the hard way too. No matter, Death Realm is lovely this time of year :)  It seems to me that the MOTD seen at login would be a great way to communicate known temporary issues like this to players, is that sort of thing possible?

As mentioned on one other thread the server is down at the moment, looks like this bug is being fixed plus other updates rolled out, yay!
