Give Entertainment a boost
« on: January 20, 2006, 03:37:09 pm »
Allright all! since i started to live here, i have been entertaining many of the citisens of Yliakum, Yet there are still a lot of people i miss at the tournaments. I do the best i can to entertain all of you, but i need some help.

Can you all give me some ideas on new tournaments, or the improvement of the ones i organised?

Also, i could use a few more crew-members, employees if you will. if you want a job, please contact me in-game.

It would be lovely if i have a few replies in a short while.  If you want to have a little chat, or a big discussion about your ideas, i allways have time for it.

If you have any new ideas, or improvements, you could go and have a look at http://ugo.sinet.it/planeshift is a forum in the site, where you can put your ideas. please place some there.

                   hoping to entertain you all,

Hmmm...let me think.  (takes a lot of effort, you know).

How about something along the lines of the last melee tournament, but team-based?  Players would need to form teams beforehand, let\'s say 4-player teams.  Then, they register as a team (perhaps with a team name as well).  If a team was formed completely of members of the same guild, in a way they could be competing for the honor of their guild or something.

Two teams could form two lines and square off face to face then battle each other.  Maybe each one fights the one across from them at the same time (4 1vs1 fights at the same time).  Or, maybe the two at one end fight and when they are done, the second two, then the third two and so on.  A defeated competitor would be eliminated and after every was healed again, another round would start.  This could continue until one team had no members left.  Teams would either win or lose as a team.

Maybe not a great idea, but it might stimulate some thinking and inspire someone to come up with a better one.  :D

A team tournament....might be fun.

How bout you add this rule, the members watching can use supportave magic to help out. This would surly add a little twist to it and give a better need for some mages in it.

Very interesting idea!  This definitely could emphasis \'teamwork\' and add some strategy to the team member selection and the roles they play on the team.  I like it.

no, just that if you intend to have melee fighters and healers.... it only takes one sword hit to kill in most places leaving the healing pretty much redundant.

Good idea with the team thing!

Shadowcast, sadly Drey is pretty much right on as far as a large portion of the players go. The game is severely unbalanced. According to some of the devs, this is the #1 priority for future releases. Hopefully things will improve soon.

Just to clear things up a bit.... There have never been strong weapons in any of my tournaments, all the weapons used are the ones bought from harnquist, or trasok.

if we would use weapons that can be looted in-game, all the tournaments would be pretty darn boring.

And i say it once more, The next tournament will be a team based one, 2 players V 2 players

cause then the tournament will have to few participators... well, perhaps we will have enough, but not enough awards. imagine what it would cost to award 10 1st prizes and 10 2nd?

it is better to try out the team fighs with 2 players at first, perhaps later on we will have a 4 to 4 fight, but the main problem is the part where the fighters challenge eachother, the more players fighting, the longer it takes to challenge one another
