Just to clarify: Off-topic art is acceptable as long as it does not take up the majority of a thread. If all that is posted is one picture and it\'s not PlaneShift-related (not discussing your image in particular), threads get moved.
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

I found it quite inspirating. Here\'s what I saw in it:

(Original by zanzibar)

The night was bright, but something wasn\'t right.
Nobody knew there was a fight here, just last fortnight.

An ylian died and fell to this very lake,
sank to the bottom for handful\' trias sake.

I didn\'t really like the pic since it didn\'t provoke my imagination at all. The skull was super obvious and kind of set the theme, but since the rest was not so obvious I never get a full picture. Maybe it was the effect that killed it a little, I dunno. :/

Cherppow, your take was great and if that curvy line is the shape of a moon, I guess you gave an answer to Cha0s\' question. It can be interpreted as non-PS related :D

And Zanzibar, cut the bullcrap...
Somebody asking if it\'s PS related won\'t stop anybody from seeing something in your pic.

Zanzibar, until i saw Cherrpow\'s development, all I saw was a buch of blue/green splotches with some squiggly lines. Now (Thank you, Cherppow) I see...

well they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder....the same generally is true about art. Very nice minamalist thing the sort of things you you have to view and interpreate and not rush to work out what it is...like clouds

and Cherppow thats a cool interpretation :)

Ooooh! So I get to bullcrap a creative theory to the meaning behind this somewhat random peice of art? Hmm. Ok. I can do that. Here goes:

I see winds. A tree, and of course a skull upside down in the ground. Instead of doing something completely wacky and obtuse, I\'ll take it at face value and still create something deemed worthy of poetry.

Through life, family trees spread their capacious branches. Winds of change stream under these branches, causing some to fall, whither and die, while supporting others. Eventually these winds deface the tree of it\'s original beauty, creating a monstrous deformity completely starved of life. Robust roots keep the tree upright, however beneath the deposit of soil, compost and root lies the ugly stench of death. The death of an original idea. The end of an ideal.

Somehow I interpreted this, and I don\'t have any family issues. Odd.  :P

EDIT: \'Doh, my interpretation is somewhat similar to Cherppow\'s. Mine\'s more about family lineage falling short of an original ancestor\'s wishes, and his is about a greedy ylian dying, but the fact we both see trees and a skull is odd.

I love it! :-D  And yes, it was my intention for it to be the reflection near a lake of a dead tree and the moon.  Maybe I should drop out of school and dedicate my life to making colouring books.

As far as Father Sengus and defender43 go  Imagination is key I guess.  Or perhaps simply an open mind.  That said, it was never intended to be inspiring, or even good.

To seperot:  It\'s good to see you react positively to something.

To Kixie:  A \"bullsh*t creative theory\"?  No.  If you cannot appreciate relativism and the subjectiveness of every day life, and especially that of art, then I feel sorry that you\'re endowed with such a closed mind.

Zanzibars art here seems to me to be deeper than what it appears on the surface.  I believe it to be a massive study of the attitudes of people here on the PS forums, thus making it PS related.   I notice how he seems to take the posts questioning the art and intentionally take something negative from them, once again employing powers of observation to push the some of the more obvious buttons that people have.

I detect a few hints of sarcasm in some of his initial posts, as if he is vaguely ammused by the reactions.  Something tells me the image isn\'t all the art.... this thread is his canvas and he is spilling the paint and watching it run.

AWSOME!
