Fails to enter the game.

What happends? Is all the same versions as the SERVER.

You didn\'t say whether you used the installer or built Planeshift from CVS sources, but I guess you built from CVS. I happen to get similar segfaults when using wrong CrystalSpace version, so that would be the first thing to look at.

I think that is a problem when I update from 0 and there aren\'t all resouces. I can make the character but i can\'t join to the server.

Updater replaces some files that are changed in later Planesift versions. I also have no idea, why cal3d should be from 2005-05-15.

If you want to be safe, build Planeshift from 2005-11-30 with cal3d, CS and cel from 2005-10-06. This is the current \"official\" Planeshift client. Dates on the laanx.fragnetics.com web site are for the current server version (I guess so).

I am currently running Planeshift client from 2006-01-16 with cal3d, CS and cel also from 2006-01-16, but it is a little bit tricky to get it working. You have to restore some configuration and xml files from CVS after updating the game.

cel-cvs-20051006 does not compile. are you sure that that are the correct day?

Yes, I am sure about the date. Make sure that you have the CRYSTAL environment variable set when building cel.

Ok my fault I compile in wrong order. I deinstalled all and compiled all in correct order and now another problem:

I tryed with all audio plugins and always fails. I have the sound card free, and openal installed with alsa, oss and sdl support.

Aslo I\'m worried for the \"Could not open driver database\"...

Its been my experience that any problems with sound isnt usually a show-stopper, unlike GL problems. The .xml file your installation is complaining about is part of CrystalSpace and can usually be found under /path/to/CS/data/config/gldrivers.xml.

You can use the CVS web interface to download the latest .xml file if yours is missing, or try earlier versions of the same one, it seems to have been undergoing quite a few changes lately. I suggest using a version of this that matches as near as possible the date of the rest of your CS install.

The \'walktest\' program is a good way to test if problems are located within CrystalSpace itself, if it works then CS should be troublefree. \'jam walktest\' will build it if you havent done so already.

Did you put the art in?

You need the art and data dirs from the updater or package.

I cannot speak for prodrigestivili, but for my part, all art and data from updater are in the new client.

Same thing here. I just did a fresh install and update from scratch (successfully) and I get this. Maybe a file is missing from the server somewhere?
