The upper half of his body looks unnatural now that it\'s been colored. I think it\'s a bit too small when compared to the size of the rest of his body. I also think a little more color in the armor would spice it up. The swords are scary cool...is that the sheath on his back? He also looks like he\'s on top of the background more than a part of it, I suppose that just means it needs some more shading.

Hellos again Kintall, you annoyingly good artist.

Hmm, on the last picture you posted one of the hands seems a bit bigger than the other. The armored hand has more slender fingers, I mean. My two cents, worth less than ever (damnable inflation!).

Does your warrior not respect the other half of his body? Jk, I do like your work especially the sketches. The ones that seem top be more anime styled are the ones that I avoid.

lol wow... I dont even remember posting I was that sleepy, just an edit he isnt actually finished. I forgot to say that its just a work in progress still, whats left to do is to add the colour and texture detail to the armour and swordies, as for the skin areas looking outta wack, theres definately some truth to it, they do look different now, two reasons are he\'s leaning away from the viewer and I also tried making the outlines for the skin areas using a different outline colour... lol and the hands, yeah its wobbly but I think I can make it look ok if I do more tatoo detailing on the skin (call it his \"demon arm\" or some such rubbish)

I was also going to try overlaying a rendered clouds layer over his armour then making a copy of the shading layer to use as a displacement map.. lol wont work possibly?  well one way to find out, oh and the backing is just a hue muddle googleimagesearch piccie, I dont know why its there I was too sleepy :P

but yeas, any comments suggestions or large sums of non sequential billsare always apreciated^^

Kintal is back. Oh my. What a pleasant surprise. My day is made. Welcome back, Kintal. Looking foward to new stuff. We have some artists who have similar styles to your own, but seeing some of your new stuff I hope you can soon put them in their place. The requesting king has returned. Rejoice children, rejoice.  :]

lol... I dont think I can really put anyone in thier place, I been rummaging about here and on peoples deviantart dingies and theres some seriously awesome stuff been posted while I was away and along:P sigh... no one told me

yaaay
lookit lookit da pweeety, god that patterning took an age to finish... and I really got lucky on the clouds overlay on the swords, (no the displacement map didnt work lol) as for the flames they were surprisingly the easiest bit of the whole mess, I just duplicated the layer with the swords colour on it, then blending properties: white overlay outer glow red (screen) inner glow yellow (normal) and just got the smudge tool out and extruded the flames out, and I\"m really happy with the result, so much so in fact I even made a wall of the body close up... lol it would be a real shame to have all that effort filled detail go unseen... lol graphics heavy thread ahoy!

and heres the wallpaper:

EDIT: and I just got through Karyuu\'s devart, christ on a bikkit!... tahts amayzin! \"Under The Weeping Moon\" is utterly sensational.. lol I know its completely the wrong place but could I be so bold as to request a widescreen(1280x768-) wall size version of it if you get the time or feel inclined? thankyou in advance even if you do /dont (its cool if no, I know what its like to get thingie about ones art^^)

Impressive result.

Anyway, I\'ll join JosePhoenix, but I\'ll concentrate on the other hand, since he already has made a comment on the right one :P
My feeling with the left hand is that it\'s virtually impossible that he is indeed holding that \"sword\", the way the hand and arm is positioned, doesn\'t seem to transmit to me the necessary (tension?) that would be needed to hold such a long sword. Look at the way the sword is positioned, and its lenght; it\'s facing up, and he\'s holding it on the extreme, the gravity must be acting on the edge of the sword like if it was a lever, the warrior in the meanwhile seems, by his arm position and also face expression not caring too much about that fact ;) I somewhat could feel more comfortable keeping that same arm and hand positioning, but the sword facing exactly the oposite, that is, the blade reaching the ground.

That said, the overall of the image looks like a comic one, and it looks indeed great, there\'s only something weird (at least to me) on the hair, I don\'t know how to express it but I think there\'s some collision between your choices of modelling the bast majority of the hair with those grey-white layers, and those two (tuft? I don\'t think it\'s the word... :S) that somewhat look unfitting, and tend to appear more than corns rather than fashionable/cool haircut.

The armour is also very good looking (kind of sci-fi looking) and the lines look smooth... I was surprised on the sketch you provide, that you draw it with such convincement, really impressive, the lines are very clean, and it\'s very well done. *looks at the armour*

*smiles* Oh... and indeed artist you\'re... you couldn\'t even resist to put your Kintall eye all over the armour torso...
*sighs* That ego... :D

wow cool pics!
If death is the only certainty why do we all waste the bodies we live in, why do we waste our minds, our souls.
Let them wither away into nothingness. Why is not the quetion, the question is who.

Kintall, I think I can sum up that picture in two words: complete crap.

Wait! no, those are the wrong words... *rummages in his bag of scrabble tiles*

I think it\'s more like.... Holy Crap!

Caption:
\"Well, damn. Today is not my day. My fingernails are bloody, half my armor fell off, and now my sword\'s on fire!\" :P

Don\'t get me wrong, I love it. A lot. Is there a wallpapery version? Edit: nevermind. >.> My eyes betrayed me once again.

Erm.... Shouldn\'t the one sword\'s fire overlap the other sword behind it? The flames of the one sword go behind the sword that is behind the sword they belong to.... tell me if i\'m confusing you, i\'ll try and rephrase it...

lol thankyou,

Nilrem, yeah theres not much implied tension on the armoured hand. whilst that may just imply his dingie power it doesnt realy match the size nor the tension of the other hand ^^ lol and the eyes are just because I like eyes the ego well thats why theres always an extra sig hidden in all my pics:P, thinking about it its a bit egoistic to assume anyone would plagerise my work gien all the more talented people on this board, let alone the entire intarwebs

Arc, ty ty my head swells even further..  there is some danger with this

JosePhoenix, lol thanks uness theres another edit to the word before the crap, and eah that would be a day from hell, well at least all te hair blowdrying paid off :P

lol spot on Farren, that there is a gaping flaw i didnt end up fixing mainly because of laziness, sigh... one that didnt go unnoticed

Oh and I forgot to mention, this year i will be undergoing professional digital arts training, encompassing such fun things as 3d moddeing/animation sound design and all sorts of other groovy stuff, and I was wondering if theres a ready useable way to use my what will be maya training to possibly make some models and or animations to be used with PS?, cause contributions sound nice and manageable and I already have a full time project coming up soon anyways :P

and BTW one of the main things I\"m here for as well is to do the ocasional interesting request(styistic as well as content), lol not like I used to mind you (evil workie) but a few still...   ^^ but with chain of memories holding me tightly in its thrall they may take a minute

As I recall, the first crop of shields in PS were modelled in Maya 4.5 or so. There\'s an evil exporter from maya to CS, I think, but it may be easier to have someone import it in blender and then export to CS (blender seems to have the most mature CS/cal3d exporter)

As for the request things, can I post mine in this thread?

yeah sure post request away, or just link to the one you want if you or someone else have one in mind from that great fanart project thingie, some of them look really interesting lol but I still feel wierd doing a rendition of someones char without being asked directly, I mean theres so much variety in interpretation... lol like one of the ones I did that personaly I think captured the red haired bearded nutter perfectly, he was stark naked mind you but I still thought that made the look complete^^

and thanks for the maya info, once I\"ve got my \"m4d skillz\" on then I\"l get into the nitty gritty of it. 3d modelling has always been a far off interest of mine, sort of like learnign the violin: it\'d be great but I\'d have to start off crappy^^, and for an attention seeker like me who seemingly does things to fill the void of personal inadequecy by seeking activitys that bring praise its a rather major step lol... thank buggery for TAFE where everyones crap. bwahahaha

oh and I\"m looking to get a bit of improvement in my no cartooning ablitys mainly for backgrounds and the like, anyone got any good programs/photoshop tutes theyd reccomend? (I have a graphics tablet)

edit: and thinking back on what farren said about the flames, one thing I should have tried was dumping the flame layer of the swords above the actual colouring layer then as the layer is extruded up it will sort of hover off the object itself as well as wisp off above it, next time next time

firstly: sorry for the double post but I get a 404 when I try to edit my post, I think my connections going wobbly, couldnt even load the forums the other day *sigh*, anywho, I drew thingies lol whether I ever actually get around to colouring them yet remains to be seen... onward with the squiggles!

this ones a little scetch I plan to make into an animated waiting picture, with a lil moving hourglass in the corner the scanners starting to go wobbly so the legs kinda fade out ^^

this ones of a Diaboli fellow with rather short horns (younger ones have smaller horns in my lil old imagining box:P) I\'d really like to do him in a black outfit with gold trim and then his red skin and white hair making the whole pic look all lovely, this was also another excuse to try and make the flaming effect integrate into the finished work better... lol when I get around to it

and this ones of a young enki lady with a nice wierd wep, the wep itself was based on a cats paw, its got the hook shape and the ball and chain w/ratchet on the end is for pulling things back (however the most our cats manage is the occasionan cockie from under the fridge) and the girl itself was me trying to accomodate the \"hairless\" enki, though to be honest I do like the idea of them having hair as well as fur, more variety and chances for originality etc... but thats more a matter of personal preferenc than anything else

anywho, your comments, suggestions, interesting requests and/or words of wisdom are welcome

lol and if there is any assistance I can be of anyone I\'d be glad to help, but as I\'m sure you can see I\'m not all that far along myself :P

edit: I got the edit button working... well it started working and I\'m taking credit for it, but I also finished the scetch of a request I received, if anyone else has one just dump em in the thread (helps me keep organised ^^)

Sengus ^

this one was really interesting, from the impression I initially got it was somewhat more of your standard robes and mysterious figure routine, but with the addition of the whole martial arts barehanded-buttkicker thing it got more fun ^^ still unsure as to the colouring too, lol I have a real penchant for black red and assorted other oogy boogy shades, ahh well (and dont worry the pendant/clothing detail will come later

and still tossing up whether or not to make the arms covered which will make them mesh better with the rest of the outfit or whether to leave them bare to show off the badarse scar on his left arm... ahh decisions decisions
